Weird!! Not what I expected. I wish I wouldn’t have spent money on this. Not a fan.

A fantastic exhibition, I truly recommend. This was a critical time in history and it reflects in the artist from that period. What I like is the approach of the museum of exhibiting rather different work from that period . A lot of exhibitions show work of the Weimar artists ( Berlin 1913- 1933 in the Royal Musem in Brussels, which was also astounding) . This focuses on artists that fled Germany and on Surrealism. A must see.

Changed my view of surrealism
This exhibit changed my view of surrealism. I've now seen it twice. I used to pass by surrealism because the subject matter seemed either grim or silly. This exhibition highlights excellent works that reveal what great painters these artist were. Miro, Dali, Ernst, Sage, etc were incredible painters. The highlights for me were Sage and Dali.
