A Rock Hall of Fame Candidate
Redbone is one of the most unheard of and underrated bands of the 1970's. They managed to be eclectic, playing all types of music from Blues to Country. At times, they almost sound progressive rock. The jazz-tinged songs reminded Gentle Giant but not on steroids. Having three of the five last albums in one package, at a great price, allows you to compare and contrast the albums. Frankly, it brings out the genius of the group. The band consisting of Lolly and Pat Vegas along with R. Anthony (Tony) Bellemy and Peter (Last Walking Bear) DePoe were seasoned professionals. Lolly and Tony were professional guitar players who could play anything. DePoe is credited with developing the "King Kong Beat". He is also revered by many drummers. Pat Vegas like his brother, had years of experience on the Bass. The fact, they all had Native American roots made them sensitive to Native American spirituality as well as discrimination of First Peoples. Their lyrics reflect that along with mixing Native American music within the mainstream of Rock and Roll. While Come and Get your Love was there only hit in the US on these albums, Wovoka and We were all Wounded at Wounded Knee hits in Europe, where they still have a large following, even though they have not toured since the early 2000's. (Lolly and Tony have passed on.) This three album set contains all the songs that should have charted. Fais-Do, Power (Prelude to a Means) and Poison Ivy all deserved recognition from Already Here. I also love Speakeasy, a great country song, featuring Red Rhodes on steel guitar. one of the great Country Rock steel guitarists. Wovoka contains Wovoka which is every bit as good as Come And Get Your Love and it tells the story of the Ghost Dance, a major event in Native American History. We Were All Wounded At Wounded Knee (No. 1 in Belgium or the Netherlands) fits right in with the American Indian Movement's protest in the early '70's and finishes the story of the massacre started in the song, Wovoka. The song was banned in the U.S., for fear of causing more unrest, already strong in the Black Communities. According to DePoe, in a interview on the Redbone website, the banning of that song led made it difficult to chart in the U.S. after that. Other sources say, Punk Rock also took over. Obviously, the great song on this album is Come And Get Your Love, which rose to Number 5 on the Rock Charts. Someday (A Good Song) is a beautiful ballad, featuring Tony Bellamy. Clouds In My Sunshine shows Redbone's ability to sound like the great, Black groups such as the Temptations, Delphonics etc. 23rd And Mad is a classic, '70's rock song. It must be noted that DePoe played was at least on all albums through Wovoka, in which he shared drumming with Alturo Perez. Beaded Dreams Through Turquoise Eyes may be Redbone's best album. Butch Rillera replaced DePoe and Perez on drums and is the drummer you see on most live clips. Beaded Dreams Through Turquoise Eyes is a beautiful ballad which deserved air play. One More Time, Suzi Girl, and Blood Sweat and Tears are solid songs. Cookin' with the Redbone is an outstanding Cajun tune which makes you want to dance as they returned to the Cajun music on their first album. Interstate Highway 101 is a classical example of Blues Rock and Country Rock. Beautiful Illusion is agan a great Ballad. This album reminds me of Poco's, Good Feeling to Know, while in different genres, there was great disappointment when the album did not sell up to expectations. The 2000's remake of this album contains several previously unreleased songs not on this album. All in all, this remastered version of three Redbone albums has an excellent sound and captures Redbone at their height. My only regret is that all eight Redbone Albums were not put in one set. This group who is in the Native American Music Hall of Fame deserves to be in the Rock Music Hall of Fame. It is true that Guardians of the Universe featuring Come And Get Your Love sparked a new interest in the band but their talent and influence in Native American Music makes them a strong candidate for the Rock Hall of Fame. Remember Buffalo Springfied did not have a lot of hits but many future stars. This band deserves that for the same reason, the members were just that good, even if they were not recognized. This a a five star set.

La calidad.
Nostalgia de mi infancia, tienen algunas canciones que quería volver a tener, pero tampoco es una gran música. Está remasterizado y suena muy bien.
