Great boots but sizing is all wrong
I'm a UK size 10 and on advice (from other reviews on this product) bought a size 11, which fitted perfectly, and this was with thin walking socks, so if you want to use thick socks then you may have to go +1.5 UK sizes to get the fit you want. I had been wearing Raichle boots for years as they had been the only brand which I had been able to get consistently good fitting (and accurately sized), I was a little concerned when they were absorbed by Mammut but for many years the GTX boots were still Raichle's (labels inside) with Mammut branding on the outside. This seems to have now vanished so my assumption is Mammut no longer use the Raichle lasts, which has resulted in the rather bazaar sizing they seem to be inflicting on everyone. This resulted in my first attempt at getting a good fitting to fail miserably, resulting in me switching to Adidas Terrex boots which fitted great, but these only lasted a year under hard use. After reading reviews I went back to Mammut with the adjustment to sizing and this time the fit was good, the boots are comfy right out of the box, apart from having to adjust the lace tightness on the first few walks they have been great so far, no blisters, no leaking, although a lot heavier than my old Terrex boot, they also feel a lot more stable. So I highly recommend as long as you can overcome the silly sizing adjustments that are required to get a good fit.

Super comfortable, robust, good looking - fitting is challanging
These are one of the most comfortable boots I wore. Build is robust and precise. They look great and the "rolling concept" actually works. Those boots feel as if they are "walking" your feet instead of your feet walking them. Opening is good. My feet are pretty wide and didn't have any issues slipping into the boots. Toe box is rigid, sides are flexible.Size - OK. I am 44.5 and wasn't sure what to order. Mammut wrote me to order UK size 10 (44 2/3) which really made sense, but on the last minute I changed my order to 10.5 (45 1/3) figuring it's better to have them a bit large. I can say UK 10.5 fit perfectly. Meaning UK 10 would have been TOO SMALL. So if you order - take AT LEAST half size larger than your usual size.

Just right, right out of the box
I bought some snow boots to replace my hiking boots for dog walking. They were very warm and very waterproof and extremely uncomfortable, to the point that 2 weeks later I bought these hike boots to replace them!I went a half size bigger than I take and found that was about right (after reading the reviews on Amazon). They are waterproof (very) they are warm, and they are very comfortable indeed..Suffice to say that if mammut made slippers, I would buy some!I thought they were a bit pricey, but as always, you get what you pay for, and when these eventually Bite the dust, I shall almost certainly replace them with the same again.

Too smal and had been worn
Not only were these far too small. At least one size under...they had been worn and had dirty soles and were creased. I assume someone else had found similar and returned after wearing. They weren't even in original box. Money was refunded to me. Not good.

made in germany my arse
It quite clearly states in he write up 'made in germany'..................which bit of the boot exactly is made in germany ? because it quite clearly states on the inside of the tongue 'made in vietnam' ..........possibly be germans, however I do doubt it ! bit of misleading bit of data TBH .................or maybe they are made in germany by vietnamese (more likely) however as comfortable as they are (and they are ) they need road testing for a few months to give an honest appraisal ..........irrespective of......german......or vietnamese ! they seem sturdy enough, just a bit dissapointed, as I assumed for the price they would have been made in germany, if it aint german, or japanese, or a Ford its generally speaking off of my radar ...........but hey ho lets see eh !

From day 1 great hiking boots.
Having had a pair of Mammut boots for ten years, upon their demise I decided to look at a pair of Mammut as replacements. Boots have changed a lot with many new manufacturers on the market. This was the first time I had bought boots online so was a little worried about getting the right size. As I had size 8 last time, I ordered the same in the hope their sizes hadn't changed. They messaged that the boots would arrive on Saturday, but they arrived early on the Wednesday. Good start. First thing I noticed was the wide entrance for the foot into the boot. This was great for me with my high instep. The boots fitted perfectly, initially with a thin sock and then once they started to give with a thicker walking sock. They were comfortable from day one. Swiss design, German leather, made in Vietnam. I have always had boots with a Vibram sole, so pleased these came with that sole. The boots look well constructed, clean well (as I have already put in quite a few miles) and are much lighter than my previous pair. Once I knew which boots I wanted, having completed much online research, it was a matter of finding the best price. I paid £100 for my boots when Mammut advertise the boots at £160 on their website. If I was to pay £160 for these boots I would expect a lot higher spec. These boots, I believe, are good value at £95 to £115. For hiking these are great and will hopefully last me a good few years. For anything else you would want a higher spec and expect to pay more.

Excellent
I've just done a 12 mile walk with these straight out the box. The weather was diabolical! I went through all sorts of sludge, water, mud, grass and gravel. I gave them a good going over and they came back dry inside. They are a quality boot. I wear a size 10 and they fit perfectly. I will update this if there is any issues. For 130 pound I'm expecting a decent wear out of them. One small gripe was they wasn't as grippy as Solomon, but the soles look like they will last a lot longer, ( Solomon don't last at all).

These are the best
Having very problematic feet I always have difficulty in finding a comfortable pair of walking boots. I walk 4 to 5 miles a day with my dogs so needed to find a good sturdy pair of walking shoes to keep me going. I decided to go for a mans shoe in the hope that they would be a better fit for my broad feet. These Mammut boots are just the ticket. From the moment I put them on I felt the difference. They are great. I couldn’t be more pleased.
