ScharkSpark Drone with 1080P HD Camera/Video, RC Toy Quadcopter Equipped with G-Sensor Technology, Preset Flight Path Hover Technology

The media could not be loaded.  The app has been updated and short clips of presentable video can be had on two of my Android devices.Another new pilot has also recorded using the application and posted it to YouTube. Can't say it is any better thanmy 720p wifi drones. But it is better than the last iteration of the app. Still having app crashes between 1.5 to 3.5 minutes religiously.Still a marvelous 103 gram altitude hold toy flyer with good LED lighting for low light flying as in dawn and dusk when the winds are calm. The design can handle weight as in a mobius or similar action cam.the phone holder on the remote will be an aggravation for most phones and persons. #onlywarningIn general the app needs another upgrade to bring it up to par with other toy grade drone apps in termsof robustness. It is still flaky and that is a shame. Solid airframe and a well thought engine mounting scheme makes this a real flyer among altitude holdbrushed motor toys. We are in the same price range as a bugs 3 mini. Mine doesn't have ScharkSpark warranty service and to be fair the SS40 The Waspat 103 grams will handle more crashes than the smaller and heavier 184 gram bugs 3 mini. The motors on the Wasp will fail first all other things being equal but you can replace all four motors twice on the wasp for the price of one brushless motor in some brands AND ScharkSpark has a three year warranty which is unheard of.So we can recommend this to new pilots who will benefit more from the excellent customer support than any particular feature of this drone.

So the ScharkSpark Wasp is my first quadcopter. I looked at a bunch of brands, read tons of reviews and decided to roll the dice. So far, I have been very happy with this drone. It comes with a 3 year extended warranty plus an extra battery and props. The drone itself is lighter than I expected and it's handling is very responsive. It's also extremely durable. I have crashed it several times but the prop guards have helped minimize damage to the drone and the objects it's hit. You can fly the drone with the app on your mobile device or you can use the controller that was included. Better yet, you can mount your phone on the base of the controller and monitor the live video feed from the 1080 HD camera. Granted it uses wifi to control the drone along with the live feed. It can record photos and video to the app which you can then save to your phone. The image quality is better than some of the other drones I've seen in this price range. Normally you can get about 10 minutes of flight time on 1 battery. When you start using the camera and flying in the wind, it drains the battery a lot quicker. That's where the second battery comes in handy. Overall range is about the length of a football field, just remember, the farther away it gets, the more likely you'll loose your wifi connection. When that happens, you loose control of the drone. My video feed has cut out before but I regained control and was able to bring it in. I'm still learning how to fly but it's been a blast so far.

First and foremost, shcarkspark is a wonderful company with unsurpassed customer service that stands behind their products and strives for complete customer satisfaction.This being said, in my opinion all of their products (including the ss40 wasp) are superb for their price point. The technology is amazing and usable. Unlike other drones the wasp does what it claims. It is a very light toygrade drone that boasts a 1080p video capture using the udigps app. The app works relatively well depending on your environment and the present interferences. There is no sd card therefore the footage is cached on the app in 1080 with minamal frame skipping (unlike other toy grade fpv). The footage is clear and the color is impressive. As the other drones scharkspark produces the wasp flies well and precise. The controller is similar to the dji spark controller although not as sturdy (as expected with this price point.)I highly recommend this drone as either a first drone or a gift to someone wanting to get into the hobby. Be sure to take advantage of the free battery (crash kit) offered by scharkspark using your Amazon order number. It's free and will be shipped with lightning speed.I look forward to flying future models that sharkspark has in the works as I have come to expect very good things out of this brand.
