3 months of use; surprisingly well-engineered
I have been pleasantly surprised at the sturdiness and engineering put into this modular system. Been using three months with more ‘upsides’ than expected (installed March 2023; review June 2023).The unit I purchasedKOUSIPortable Storage20 Cubes - 14x14”Load-Bearing Metal PanelBlackPros- Modular - easily break down and move (or rearrange).- Can use the whole system, or parts in different places (e.g. don’t have to have one big unit).- Surprisingly sturdy (although I found it’s not the 30# per cube that they claim - see Cons list for details).- Multi-purpose.- Sections “snap” together quite nicely - I could tell when a piece was “installed”.- Nice little ‘locking’ bits (the white parts that look like a “3”).- Comes with (what I first thought was hilarious) “Barbie” hammer - turns out is quite useful to gently tap connectors into place.Cons- Shelves purported to hold 30# bow under weight of much less poundage of books (they are still intact/holding as of this writing, just look really sketchy).- All connection points are plastic - could break down over time.- In hindsight, I would have purchased another color - gray / neutral / not so glaring against white walls.- The solid panels are made of plastic, and did off-gas a bit (smelly). After leaving to air out, haven’t had smell problem, but buyer beware if you’re sensitive to this sort of thing. The storyHit max capacity in the single room I’m renting. Wanted something could take with me, and that fit multiple situations. Cube storage seemed the best for multiple configurations. I priced out Ikea and other brands first, but came to like the size and price point of this one. There are MANY similars out there - this brand wasn’t a selling point, just a good price (based on my research) to “test out” and not lose too much if it didn’t work out after X months.I figured out how to mis-use this unit as a standing desk. This is NOT recommended by the manufacturer, and I am not going to provide my plans. But I was incredibly surprised after testing out multiple configurations the possibilities for this price point.I didn’t find installation very difficult, however I’m accustomed to tinkering with things to figure them out. For me, this was much easier than some Ikea instructions I’ve come across. The unit isn’t plumb / square because (A) I’m mis-using it outside specifications, and (B) the room/floor isn’t level. Some of the black connection points pop out of alignment. Those in the center of the unit, with the little white “3” shaped locks, have stayed in place well. The tiny hammer is handy to tap locks into place as I move things in and out of the outer cubes.I didn’t purchase the style with doors due to reviews about them ‘hanging open’ slightly. However, I’m not using the whole unit, so have extra solid panels and just pop the bottom part into the front of some cubes to represent doors. This offers a clean look for such a small space - to hide the variety of shapes and colors of items I need to store.

Don't believe you're getting a mallet...more like a PlaySchool Hammer...
So, once you get it figured out, it's not difficult to put together....at least not in the intelligence area...but the hammer in the box is useless...so my hands are getting a workout trying to get the corner brackets tightly in place. This is going to be used to sort out the t-shirts I have in inventory for my small customization business. I think this unit is going to be great for my use. I bought 2 sets of 20 cube...I like that I can add on to the first set instead of having 2 separate units. I also bought some VERY strong zip ties to increase the strength of the corner brackets. Without the zip ties, you could wiggle the shelving on one end and 12' down to the other end...the wiggling could be seen. Once I zip tied all 100 ties...the wiggling was gone. This is sturdy and the shelves are much stronger than I actually need. If you look at the picture I attached, the little nubs you see are the ends of the zip ties. There are 2 ties at every spot where the brackets meet up along the back and also on the front and sides. This made a huge difference in the strength ...I suggest taking the time to do this. If I need to update this review, I will do so in the future. Thank You for your time.

Takes forever to put together
Ive been at this for an hour now and not even done. The parts don't want to be together. Pull one side, the other comes out. The instructions are hella confusing, plus it says it comes with doors but there are no doors. The design is one sided. So you have to decide which side gets it. The metal rack is so weak, it starts bending with my hand alone. I don't know why I went with a low cost option. I mean it's fine for light things like clothes but definitely not to be used for living room.

mostly fine, missing some pieces
Its easy enough to assemble; I didn't need the hammer. Got the 20 cube version. However, my package arrive with the white clips, but none of the clear panels. Unfortunately I didn't assemble the thing within the Amazon return window, so I'll just use it as is. Will try to contact the company to see if they will send me the missing components. I think I need to load it up and see how it behaves after some months of changes in temperature and humidity. The plastic corner pieces are OK, but don't strike me as very reliable. Instructions don't mention anything about the white clips or the transparent doors.

Still using it!
Great capacity for my yarn - putting it together was aggravating- instructions were not clear - a lot of parts left over that we have no idea where they go. It's been a few months - Just waiting to see if it holds or calapses....

Wonderful product!
I will never buy another brand. These are great, the sizes and shapes are never ending. We use them as closet organizers, shoe holders, kitchen storage, playroom toy cubby, dressers, end tables, room dividers, and even a trash can hider.Make sure to get extra connectors as you go along because you're going to want to do so much with these. It's like having an actual use for Legos only real sized.

It stays together and holds a lot!
I am so glad I ordered this set. I used it to organize my craft room. Ease of assembly--it wasn't hard to do, but it does take some time and effort. I had it loaded down with fabric, including bolts of fabric I laid across the top. This thing stayed sturdy and stable. I just took it down to move it, and I was amazed that it was still all the way assembled after over 18 months. Those little clips that they send with it to keep the wires together really worked. Cleverly designed. All the panels stayed firm. The wire bottoms were good, too. I had it against a wall and never noticed it tipping--even though it was on carpet. I was skeptical when it arrived, but I'm impressed with its durability.

Perfect storage organizer
Design is well done, simple to put together although had a few spots I needed to use pliers to pull the bars close enough together to use the locking clips. Looks amazing and is sturdier than you’d expect. 13” cubes fit in it perfectly.
