We have been buying this brand of duck for our cat for about a year. It is the one food that she prefers 'most of the time'. :) It doesn't smell when you open it but there has been one or two in the past that didn't smell good and she didn't want to try it. She always gets good grades at the Vets and this is what we tell them she eats.There have been times the store has been out so that is why we bought a case from Amazon.

I have been very happy with this food. My cats have digestibility issues (bad, smelly, diarrhea poops), so I tried this food as a last resort. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they liked the food and it did not seem to upset their stomach. Since then, this is the only brand I buy for them. They really seem to like the Rocky Mountain Recipe best.One thing I suggest is to add a little warm water to the food to make it less dense. My cats wouldn't eat the food right out of the can, so I thinned it out a little with some warm water. They eat every drop now.

By doing nothing this product became a better value. Why? Because due to unprecedented inflation the cost of common name cat foods has skyrocketed, while this one has remained about the same, so all of a sudden buying Blue Buffalo becomes a good value - something it has never been known for. That alone should make it worth consideration. And it always has been made with (what they say) are better ingredients than the common named foods and especially the no name ones from very questionable factories.FLAVORRating a cat food on flavor is one of the funniest things you can find on these review pages. I assume the human who buys it doesn't taste it, and there are two things that are absolute certainties with cats - a hungry cat will eat anything and a fickle cat will eat nothing. It has nothing to do with the flavor of what's in the can, which more often than not has a flavor enhancer added to attract the smell sensors of cats. The tastebuds of humans is nothing like the tongue of a cat, where food is shoveled in so fast there is almost zero opportunity for it to be tasted anyway.That's one reason reading or writing reviews on how cat food tastes is a waste of time. The other is common sense - you don't know ,me or my cat and I don't know you or your cat, who cares about my opinion concerning what I think this cat food tastes like? There is only one way to know if your cat will like eating this stuff and that's to buy it and let your cat decide. If he or she likes it continue buying it, if not move on to something else.YES OR NOBased on comparative value of what I'm paying for cat food in the supermarkets this is a pretty good value. That's why I bought it. And My cat likes some of it - he won't touch the duck. Why? Because cats don't have to give a reason.
