Q: how heavy is this thing could I carry it in my BackPack?

This is not a backpacking stove in any way. It is more like an emergency stove to cook on. I would never carry this in my backpack.

Q: Whats the diameter of the top, I would think that a pan of thin aluminum or copper clad the exact diameter of the top would be most efficient. Right?

I measured from side to side approximately 10 1/8 inches from side to side of the top, but you should easily be able to use a 12 inch skillet no problem, but you also have the piece that comes with the Stovetec that is adjustable, not sure how small it will adjust but will cover a number of different size pots and pans,hope this helps

Q: Will a lodge Dutch oven with feed work well on the stove?

Kinda depends on the size of the dutch oven, the smaller one will be a little taller on the burner but should work fine, the bigger ones with the feet will be off the burner would be no problem as they would be outside of the burner area, do you have a size in mind or have measurements, that would be helpful.
