Cuts great
Bought this to do custom cuts on a modern home. I can't speak for long term durability, but I can speak to the product's usability.Pros:It works right out of the box, and works well.Easy to cut a straight line in the material. When the material is supported, you get minimal end cut blow out and chipping. The cut is smooth, but not saw-smooth. Certainly butt-joint smooth. It makes trimming small pieces much less dusty. A life saver when you're 30' in the air, doing cement board facia on a home. No handing the sheet down, cutting it, handing it back up through the skylight.not too heavy.cutter head seems really robust, not a cheap plastic housing like on some products.Quiet.No dust. None. Will cut very small pieces with out blowing them up. You can trim 1/2" off a 10' sheet and still get a nice edge. The pop-up or lay flat tool hook. Not fancy, but the fact you can pop this down when you put the tool in a bucket or a holster is really nice. Pop it back up when you just want to hang it on a sawhorse. A little thing, but very handy.Company is local to the Seattle area (I like this, but I'm in Seattle).Cons (minor complaints about working with Cement board would be more correct):The kerf is about 1/4" thick. I don't know if this can be helped. Minor complaint. The 'curl' from the kerf bends up and right back onto your line when your cutting. Not a huge deal, but it does make the line hard to see sometimes.Doesn't do tight angles or arcs. I call this a Con, but this is certainly not the tool for that job. Get the JigSaw blades for fancy cuts.sometimes a small piece of siding gets stuck in the jaws making it hard to start the next cut. Just poke it out with a nail and you're good. If you don't care about the start of the next cut, just push the tool onto the work and the chunk will kick out. Makes the start a bit messy, but no big.

The only way to cut fiber cement siding
I bought this tool as used on Amazon because I really thought it was going to be disappoint. The tool came in perfect condition, not a scratch on it. Just the box was damaged so I saved about $100. Then when I tried it out on the fiber cement siding it worked perfectly. Cuts are fast and clean with no dust and no noise.

This tool is amazing.
This tool will save you a lot of mess and time. Make short work of the concrete backer boards instead of having to use a saw that would shoot dust everywhere. Invest in your sanity. Buy the tool!

Excellent addition
Finally ready to review this tool, since I have put it to the test. I must say it is an excellent addition to my tool collection. Cuts very precisely and with no dust. It can be tricky to get perfect Angel to allow for a continuous “peel” and to prevent bulging at cut site, but so love this tool despite operator learning curve. The peel can, at times, fall over the cut mark.

Quality Tool for Specific Task
I am building my own home and installing cement fiber siding. I had an eliptical and full circle transom around which I had to install 1/2" Hardi-trim, as well as lap siding and Hardi-shingles. I reluctantly paid the price for this single use tool because I was getting less than satisfactory results around an oval window using just a cement fiber blade in a circular saw, not to mention the cloud of choking dust which I'm sure will cause me cancer some day. One criticism is that the information for this tool does NOT SAY it will cut up to 1/2" fiber cement. It will do this handily. On straight cuts, it's clean and faster than a circular blade. On mild arcs, it works best if you cut from left to right (imagine the blade sweeping clockwise). On more aggressive arcs, it will cut but the end result may need a good bit of clean up with a utility knife. The aggressive arcs also require a good deal more force to make the turns. These comments all relate to 1/2". With standard 5/16" fiber cement siding, this machine cuts like a hot knife through butter. Another thing; I wish I had this tool when I was balanced on a scaffold last week instead of using the circular saw. It's solidly built. I dropped it several times from many feet. It feels competent and comfortable in my hand. I own many power tools and am sick of promised performance. In this case, I would recommend this to professionals as well as those who fear the amateur but very doable task of installing fiber cement siding. Now that I'm done with my project, you can buy mine!

Easy to use. Nice looking cuts. A great addition to your tool rack.
I was a little skeptical of this thing since it looks very weird and awkward. I decided to buy it because I have become weary of using carbide blades to cut my Hardie Planks in light of the health risks associated with it. Another factor was that holding a spinning blade in my hands wasn't ideal when working from staging. This tool definitely was worth the money for me. Don't let it's looks fool you. It is very easy to use, and makes very nice cuts in the siding planks. As long as you make your cuts with the planks face down (my siding was prepainted), the edge that it creates is nice and sharp. It only takes seconds to make the cut, and is very quiet compared to a saw.As a homeowner who doesn't do carpentry professionally, it was very quick and easy to learn how to use. To make a straight cut, the cutting edge will run perfectly along a speed square. I used it to side my entire house (45' x 45', two stories plus 6 dormers), and I didn't notice any degradation in the sharpness of the blades. The only downside I can even think of is that the while it cuts, it creates waste of about a 1/4 inch strip of the plank. After a while, those little strips make a mess under your feet. Compared to dust flying in the air from the traditional saw blades, I would take this tradeoff any day.

Ragged cuts, crushed corners
This review is for the drill attachment, not for the one-piece tool. This tool makes for completely unusable cut edges. Often the cut is not only ragged, but crushed, with broken corners. I tried about 20 cuts and gave up. Drill on full speed, in forward mode, 100% fail. Back to the trustworthy circular saw.I bought this tool too long ago to return, unfortunately.

less dust cutting of tile board
the picture in advert clearly shows it cutting through 12mm thick board, but I must have missed the small print, as on arrival, the package clearly states that it is designed to cut UP TO 8 mm! As I have a lot of 12mm sheets to cut, I tried it - it will do it, but you have to apply a lot of downwards pressure to keep the cut clean and keep it in a straight line - hard work - so not as good as it looks. Trusting it will be a lot easier on the 6mm boards.

Clean cut little dust created.
I used it to cut 4.5mm and 6mm cement sheeting whilst renovating our bathroom. Beats hands down ant other method cutting cement sheeting.
