Do not touch this product under any circumstances!
It all seemed so easy. The instructions say that the Hub 360 is simple to install (without even losing any settings) by using the Hive app - and it all went well, until...Following the instructions was fine and the upgrade seemed to be going well until the app came back with an error message saying that the upgrade had failed and that I should call the support number. In fairness to the support staff, the call was answered quickly and they were very happy to try to help me. "Try", that is. "Succeed", not so much. After four calls lasting a total of 2 1/2 hours they decided that the hub was dead and should be returned - let's just put the old hub back, shall we?And things got no better from here on. The old hub was no longer connected to the account so needed to be setup again (which would, of course, lose all of my setup - heating, 10 bulbs and 9 sockets, complete with all of the routines). Resigned to this work, I began, only to find that the old hub would now not talk to the system, nor to the Hive server. Another call to the helpdesk. And the call was answered very well, as before. Unfortunately, they were unable to find anything for me to try that (a) I hadn't already tried anyway, having been a hardware / software design engineer for 30 years now, and (b) made any difference at all to the white box with a red light sitting next to my router. Most of the discussions over the next few calls centred around it definitely having to be a problem with my internet connection being too slow (Virgin Media at 200MB/s is usually quite fast enough for most purposes). They offered to send out another hub... 3-5 days delivery. The moral of this sorry tale is as follows: If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Ignoring most of the advice from the helpdesk, I've finally got the replacement hub up and running. The 360 is supposed to have some nice upgraded features over the old version, but I guess I'll never find out because I'm not going there again! For your sanity's sake, just don't do it. Please take my word for that.

Leave well alone. Save your money and get a booster instead to go with the original hub.
I will honestly say, this is the biggest load of rubbish. This is the second one now, as told by Hive that the first one delivered was faulty. Second one arrives and the micro usb does not fit properly. Kept losing power. The second one does exactly the same as the first, keeps losing internet. Have been on the phone to Scotland everyday for 5 days. The support people are exceptionally helpful I will say. This item has only been out for a few months and has NOT in my opinion been beta tested in the field properly.STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS ITEM......!You have been warned.

Do NOT buy this POS
This is the worst product ever made. This sounds like hyperbole, but this really is the most appalling device I have ever owned.I have had this pointless hub for a over 4 months and have had to rebuild the network at least once a month. The hub is offline randomly at least 4 times a day.The hub randomly forgets attached devices.I very rarely write negative reviews, but this device is truly dreadful. Customer service is a joke.If you are considering a smart hub, you’d be better off investing in a kitten than buying this. Yes it won’t control your heating or your lights but at least it’ll be vaguely cute.

Advice for using the Hive Hub
I don't normally write reviews but given the popularity of this product and my experience I thought it was justified. As a background I am a new user to Hive. I wanted to originally subscribe to the Hive monitoring system for the elderly - for a relative, but when I went to order I saw that this service has recently been pulled by Hive. Therefore I wanted to see if it was possible to buy the hardware and configure myself. First of all, if you look at any other independent monitoring services, these are way more expensive than buying the Hive components. So, I thought it should be possible to set up myself. The first choice was the new 360 Hub or the nano hub. The 360 has some negative reviews but I thought they were centered around upgrading from the old hub and given the extra functionality decided to go for the new version. Here is my experience to date - Perfect delivery from Amazon next day. My intention was to set up the system in my house to check before moving to the relatives home. Be aware - the first Hive account that you register the device to is the only one that you can use in the future. Having tested the system and then tried to logon with the final user account meant that the Hub was 'locked' and not accessible from any phone. This manifests itself as the device switching on with a White light and then switching to Purple - missing out the vital Blue light when the device is capable of connecting via Bluetooth. If this happens to you, do not waste anymore of your time but get on the Hive website and start the WebChat. They have the ability to interact with your Hub and switch features on/off in a way that you cannot. I would also advise that if the person you are speaking to does not pick this idea up quickly then disconnect and start again. To summarise my experience this afternoon , I ended up talking to 3 people via Webchat had them remove my Hub from my Hive account, had to reboot my WiFi router and uninstall and reinstall the Hive app from my phone in order to get the Hub working, This is clearly not acceptable for the product they sell but the bottom line is that if you invest the time you get something that works. I tested the Hub picking up the sound of a smoke alarm and it registered and sent me a notification. If you are looking at replicating a monitoring service - then forget the plug (it tells you nothing) and concentrate on motion / door sensors. I hope I have given a reflection of what you can expect with this product, as I said it should work well but there are clearly some teething troubles but the helpteam seem to be able to fix this. On the minus side this took at least 3 hours of my time this afternoon, on the plus side I missed England losing 4 wickets in the Ashes. Final note - the reset button is incapable of performing a factory reset as it is always linked to the first Hive account you used. What is more useful is if you press the rest button for 10 seconds and release then the Hub is moved to Bluetooth pairing mode which may help with your connection issues. Best of luck.

poorly designed and thought through
A nice looking product that totally fails to install - we bought it to replace a previous defective Hive hub, but the setup process is totally predicated on having the previous hub functioning, so in fact this is a waste of time and money.
