Only works with CERTAIN carts
For me, did not work with first party carts. Used successfully only with 3rd party carts

It'll work, if there aren't missing parts.
I have used a chip reseter for similar Brother ink cartridges and they worked great. However the one I received did not come with a guide to ensure that the cartridge was in the correct position. Without this guide, the chip reset failed and permanently damaged the cartridge.
