Kyoto Kimonos to Color and Display

I don’t typically spend over $10 for a coloring book, especially on one with no reviews but I love Japan, I lived there for two years, and this looked promising. This did not let me down! This is a beautiful book on so many levels. The book is full of amazing pictures to color, you get some history on the fabric as well. The paper is good quality, single side printing, and removes from the book easily. Some designs cover multiple pages. Just an incredible book. It’s worth the price!

This is a delightful and colourful design book. Enjoyable for those who like to colour but, from my own point of view, also very interesting from a design aspect and seeing the way Japanese design elements are combined. I would recommend this to anyone interested in Japanese design as well as those who love to colour.

実はコレがぬりえ本デビュー。以前から自分の塗りたいものを書店で探していましたが、いまひとつ決め手がなく。日本らしいものや和風のものも他にある中、表紙の美しさに惹かれた「京きものぬり絵本」これが塗り絵？塗ってしまってもいいんですか？という正統な着物図柄！塗って飾れるということでページが簡単に離せ、塗ってみたい友達におすそ分けも出来ます。見開き左右がパタンと平坦になるのでとっても塗りやすいのも気に入っています。彩色されてるページが美しい着物そのもので、和てぬぐいを飾る額に入れても眺めています。塗るのが勿体なくて、眺めて楽しむだけでもいいな～と思いつつ少しずつ塗り始めて楽しんでいますが、意外と細かい柄の方が集中出来て失敗？やセンスの無さもごまかせる気がして気楽に塗って塗り絵デビューです。着るのは大変でも見るのは好きで憧れる京きもの、海外の友達や年配の知人にちょっとしたプレゼントや手土産にとアマゾンでまとめ買いしちゃいました。

Amazing content, beautifully drawn. Binding seems flexible but not too brittle. The fact that each illustrations are put in its own page is brilliant, as compared to ones printed back to back

特に、この京きものぬり絵本は細かい柄を塗っていくと夢中になり、時間を忘れてしまいます。気分転換に最適です。
