Weak material.
The net is not strong at all. I bought it with the impression that the material is made of aluminum. However the joint between the net and the handle broke the first time when we used it. The joint is totally made of plastic...

Fiblink 118" Model
This review is for the 118" modelFirst impressions: folds up nicely and compactly, I was surprised at how small the box it came in was. Seems well made and sturdy. The Y joint that connects the net to the handle is plastic but seems sturdy. The mesh is small enough to net minnows which was a surprise bonus. As with pretty much any net, you should always turn the net and lift vertically, with the handle straight up. I do wish the net were a little deeper like the shorter model but it should be large enough for fish 3' in length. I have taken off 1 star because the advertised length is 118" but when I put a tape measure on it it measured 114" from end of handle to end of net. I am taking this net up north to land 10-20lb Salmon and will update whether it does or does not survive the trip.Update: Not sturdy enough for big Salmon. I ended up just using it to catch minnows and it served that purpose well.

This is not the net your looking for
Ok, simply put EVERYTHING tangles in this NET, the net gets caught on everything.and every hook that gets near it will be stuck in the net (and you will cut the net or cut the hook)there is a border around the net near the frame when you stick a hook there YOU will cut the hookor damage the net.JUST PASS ON THIS ONE

Great but not very sturdy
I have used this net more than three months. I netted more 40 Steelheads(missed 3-4). Five fish are longer than 30inches and heavier than 10lbs. But one fish (30inches, 12lbs) broke through it yesterday. Its main advantage is with a long handle. However, there are some tips to use this net and make it durable. After fish gets into the net, you cannot directly lift up the net from water and pull it back to you. Instead, you should pull it back to you first, then you lift it up from the water. You don't follow the tip. Your long handle will be broken while netting a big fish due to the large torque. It has two drawbacks. First, the netting area is not large. Sometime, you have to chase the fish in water. Second, you cannot agilely move this net in water. Thus, you better net the fish when it is tired. Otherwise, it will be little challenging to net the fish.Overall, based on its performance and price, I still recommend this net to other people. It is a very long net less than $30. It has successfully netted more 40 Steelheads (missed 3-4 fish). I have nothing to complain if you learn the tips to use it.Oh.... there is another tip. Don't let other people who don't know how to well use this net to net the fish for you. They likely break your net. That is what happened to my net.

Far better quality and size than I expected.
This is a keeper for someone who wants a nicely built net whose handle telescopes out to reach for fish, chickens or even frogs that are within its >8.5 feet of reach.|If you use some common sense bringing in your catch, you can safely land a 10 to 20 lb fish. If you don't use common sense, you can break the net/pole with just a 5 lb. fish, and blame the net, and not yourself for such failure. So, when you get a fish within the net, bring the net and fish closer to you by pulling the long handle backwards, keeping the net and the heavy fish in the water, until the fish/net are close to you, rather than trying to lift your catch out of the water when it's furthest away from you. That's just putting less stress on the long handle. The net is far bigger, wider and longer than I expected, and that's a good thing for a fisherman. I bought this for its long reach and telescoping down, to easily transport and store it. There are tradeoffs in having a telescoping and folding net, rather than a long, solid aluminum or steel handled net. Your choice. To pack up the net, the net collapses by pushing on the plastic button at its base, and folding the net up. Then telescope the long handle to shorten it.Easy-peasy.Treat the net with respect, and it could last a few years, depending on your use and talents as a fisherman and net user!

The fish jump right into it! (Video)
The media could not be loaded. The net came in about 10 mins before I was heading to the lake. I opened it up when I got to the boat and the entire concept of it was great! We had a great day and landed 9 northerns total - 3 over 5lbs.My biggest disappointments are the cheap parts... I couldn't slide the net clip down to collapse it because the pole needed to be extended about .5" and screwed down right before the clip had enough room to pull it out, that and the cheap key ring that they put at the base of the net pulled right out.I would order this net again with better quality parts and pay $60-70 for it in a heartbeat.Pros: the concept, very small when storing, lightweight, can handle bigger fish and tiny holes for smaller, price is great.Cons: some parts are very cheap, I don't think I'll get more than 1 season out of it with moderate use.Overall: I'd say a great purchase. I am not disappointed one bit. I feel like If they ever make a better quality net with the same concept, it would be one of the best nets on the market for smaller vessels or fishermen on the banks.

Decent net
This is a good net for the price. It’s a large basket that can hold large fish. The fabric is gentle on the fish as well. The first one I bought had an issue with the locking/unlocking mechanism that allows the handle to extend. With enough force, it extended, but it wouldn’t unlock to allow it to collapse. The company reached out and asked about my net, and I told them what happened, and they immediately sent a replacement for free. Very good customer service.Overall, I’d recommend them and the net - just don’t be surprised if the extension is difficult.

Feel like the max fish lbs you can lift this thing ...
If you need to reach far then this is it. Lost one star because i feel the extension closes to the net feel whobbly when fully extended. Feel like the max fish lbs you can lift this thing fully extended is maybe 15 lbs. Lifted a 10lbs catfish and the front end handle started to arc. It was struggling a bit.
