Easy to assemble and gives off a soft romantic light

I read the good and not so good reviews and rolled the dice and unless you cant use a screw driver have a smidge of mechanical sense or manipulate some pieces of wood if needed well.....I think this lamp is worth every penny. I got this for giving as a gift and it was a big hit, with the wife and friends love it too. Since it is coming from Asia it takes about 3+ weeks to get so if getting as a gift keep that in mind, but it was worth the wait. It is only about a foot high and 5ish inches square and perfect for on an end table or bed side table / night light. I would buy again with out hesitation. currently looking at the Dragon version for my office.For those that complained about fit problems or assembly issues what do you expect for this price this lamp would cost much more at any mall or import store and like ANY product there is occasionally imperfections, I found it to be relatively easy to assemble.

I ordered this lamp on December 8th. The lamp was shipped from Thailand and required a signature. The USPS left an attempted delivery form on December 31st. I filled out an on-line re-delivery form to have it delivered on Jan 3rd and when that didn't happen I called the Sellwood Branch of the USPS and found out they had misplaced my package, and made arrangements to have it delivered on Friday, Jan 6th. The lamp required assembly with four screws and it did not sit firmly on all four legs. The light bulb is actually an extremely low density bulb used in Christmas lights, barely enough to see anything or anyone in the dark. The on/off switch is too close to the plug, so if your outlet is behind your bed, as mine is, it is difficult to reach. The best thing about the lamp is the artwork of the elephants.

The lamp was cute after being put together, but there were no instructions--no pictures--nothing. Granted it was only 4 sides and screws and such, but it would've taken just a couple of minutes if there had even been a picture. Also, after you get it put together--assuming I did it correctly--to change the light bulb you'll have to remove one of the pieces of wood. And let me tell you, the material is pretty flimsy so I don't envy that process.The wood parts that you screw together I think are balsa wood so I don't know how well they will be for re-screwing back together. Fortunately I used it as a centerpiece decoration for a party and gave it to the honoree to take home and she was thrilled that it had elephants on it. So for quality--as a center piece it was pretty cool. As a lamp, not so much.

I bought this as a gift but really wanted to see what it looked like before giving it away. I was a little worried about the quality when I opened the package but that quickly changed. As I opened the wrappings I was pleasantly surprised to find that the wood smelled like it was freshly cut and even the light bulb was included!! It was very easy to put together and is very sturdy. I tested it out and was amazed that it looked just like the picture of what I bought (too many times I've bought something and then it doesn't end up being what the picture described). Overall I give this 2 thumbs up and 5 stars... Going look to see if I can find other animals and put them throughout my house.

This is basically an easy to assemble black balsa wood framed piece with a tiny fixture inside. I had no problem assembling it. I can't comment on the light portion accurately because I didn't use their bulb. I used an LED bulb I keep on hand for my kitchen pendant lights. It makes a great light for our bathroom counter. We pop it on rather than the blinding bright white LED's I installed over the sinks while we get ready for bed.My wife to be loves elephants and adores the art work. It does seem a bit too fragile for any application where children may be using it. But over all for the price... Two thumbs up!

I was excited to receive this package because my husband and I wanted to get a jump start on Christmas shopping this year. I purchased a similar lamp at a local store last year, since than they went out of business. I was excited when I came across this lamp so I made a purchase. When I received the package it was flat looking. I opened it and realized I had to assemble the lamp. As I took piece by piece out I thought oh my goodness it's incredibly cheap wood I was afraid I was going to break the pieces just by touching them. As I started to assemble product a whole side broke off so instead of returning I decided to glue the broken piece. After it was dry and ready to finish putting it together I noticed the sides doesn't really stay in place or snap in. I literally had to ask my husband to help me hold the sides so it wouldn't fall off putting on the other pieces. Overall very cheap looking the wood looked and felt like cardboard the wood was flaking off, did not look like it did online. I only paid 12.99 on it I believe in this case I got what I paid for.

This lamp is super cute for a person that loves and collects elephants. I ordered this as a gift for my step mother who also loves elephants. I am glad that I tried to assemble it for her as it is very poorly made, not very bright, and seems to be even more cheap than the price. I was not expecting a super expensive lamp but I thought a lamp should be a little more sturdier and not made out of paper that could be a hazard being so close to the bulb.
