Extra Deep Transmission Pan 94-07 Dodge Ram 2500 / 3500 Cummins 5.9L Diesel

Buy this trans pan with great confidence in the build quality-- its excellent in form, finish, and fit. But as for function, thats a big ol' juicy nothingburger. I bought the pan for my 06 Cummins with high hopes that the extra capacity and finned design would help keep the trans temps down, especially while towing. Unfortunately it seems to have done exactly nothing to that effect. Trans temps are still reaching the same temps as before, and just as quickly. So, I have a fancy-schmancy $300 aluminum pan hanging off the bottom of my transmission than nobody can see and it doesn't do a darn thing. If you want to cool down your tranny this probably isn't the solution you're looking for. But if you want one to stay even with your goober buddy who bought one for his Powerstroke and cuz its super duper neato to have snazzy aluminum aftermarket cool-kid parts with no function whatsoever, fork over the $300. All that said, the quality really is top-notch.

Boy is this thing heavy. It took me awhile to get it up into place(working alone), when I finally did and made sure the gasket was lined up with the holes properly I started tightening the bolts. I took my time and went around the pan in an alternating pattern. When I began to tighten the bolts(no tourque wrench), I tightened the bolts to what felt like it was tight enough and stopped (get a tourque wrench to make sure you don't over tighten them if you want). After filling and filling the pan, I ran it around for a while, no leaks and dipstick shows full(success). With the temps in the 100's I will be running it around more to see how the temperature does.

This trans pan holds an extra 4 quarts and cools the fluid quick having the fins and aluminum housing. It works great!

Comes with all the gaskets and such, truck runs cooler than it did.

Very well made pan, heavy duty cast aluminum, with milled mounting area. Will not leak! Will drop at least 15-20 degrees of trans temp.I pull a 16,500 trailer, with 2000 dodge, 47RE, with engine, and trans mods, and cant get the trans temp above 180 degrees after this pan install. Previous temps were in the 205-215 degree range with ambient temp of 95 degrees pulling 7% grade.This is a must have for all 46,47,and 48RE transmissions when towing heavy loads.10 quarts of ATF +4 with this pan.Make sure to adjust your bands, and replace filter when doing this mod.

This is my second one. Had to buy a new one as I was unable to get the drain plug out of the old one - and I tried everything! - and I was tired of lowering the full pan and getting trans oil all over (had the old one for 4 years). I see the manuf now makes it clear that the drain plug should be finger tight only.

Not bad, love the oil drain plug and the extra oil Capacity. Only lowered my transmission temp 7-10 degrees in town. Using Royal purple max atf.

Great oil pan. Nice and heavy. Only reason it’s 4 stars is the gasket that comes with it is terrible. Buy this pan and go to the dealer for the gasket.
