A lot less wind noise than from the plastic shutters it replaced.Easy to fit

Looks quite good on the side of house, better then flappy plastic vents, in my view but obviously more expensive. Nice fit on 150mm pipe and has some cut out clips which help secure the pipe which is good. The flappy valve seal is not so good. It has a sponge type seal and this had to be partially removed and re-glued to cover the hole. Also were the flap is hinged it is warped and it does not sit flat against the body, so leaves a small permanent air gap. I think the design is fine, just poor manufacturing quality, mine may be one off but not wort the hassle to return

Returned item at my cost, wouldn't recommend the product, it was marked and it was just cheap and nasty, the flap inside wasn't sitting correctly so would eventually let the flys, spiders and all sorts of crawlies in, don't do it.

I like the appearance of these. I bought three, one for ground floor kitchen, first floor bathroom and second floor en suite.Kitchen is silent and it appears to have worked very well replacing flappy plastic grille.Bathroom and en suite are more exposed to the weather especially the 2nd floor en suite. The flap doesn't rest flush with the body of the cowl so air is constantly coming into the house. Gentle wind is enough to rattle the flap and stronger winds generate a repetitive bang/clang sound. Really poor. I will need to install some foam to rest between the flap and the body so that the bangs are dampened and also to change the angle which the flap rests, so as to make a seal and hopefully improving the whole thing.

This is much better than the horrid plastic alternatives but don't expect the nr valve to be silent - still clonks despite the simple fibre gasket around the flap rim. There is no damping as such. In view of this it is a tad expensive.
