The one and only time this can opener actually worked, it was great! But alas, my joy was short—lived. I had been wanting a cordless can opener that cut from the TOP as opposed to the SIDE, like my Handy Can Opener does. The difference is that the Handy Can Opener actually cuts the top rim of the can itself, leaving a razor—sharp edge on the can & making the can very unstable.I wish I had heeded the reviews of this Smooth Edged Can Opener as it was a waste of battery power. I opened one little can of tuna with it and I was so happy to not have the super sharp edge of the can to contend with. Tonight, I attempted to open a large can of tomatoes. No joy. The damned can opener just sat in one spot, blade turning against the metal & then I couldn't turn the damned thing off!I then tried the Handy Can Opener, which worked but now I've got a huge can with no rim to stabilize the can.I then tried the Smooth Edge Opener again on some fruit cocktail. Nope. Just sat in one spot & didn't cut anything at all.Save yourself some time, battery life, and frustration. Stay away from this can opener.

I didn't realize how much easier life is with this can opener until I was without one. I had a similar opener for years and it finally died. I ran out and got a hand crank opener because I was cooking and needed one fast. It was then that I realized what a luxury this type of can opener is. I went through all the offerings on Amazon and decided to get this one, and I'm happy I did. It works flawlessly and quickly. My arthritic hands are grateful. I've had it for a while now, and I have had no problems, even after dropping it once or twice on the tile floor. I definitely recommend this can opener to anyone who has any problem with their hands, but also to anyone who just wants the luxury of not having to work to open up a can.

This can open is a cheap product and doesn’t work well we’ve only owned it for a few weeks and already it won’t open cans anymore it had trouble getting latched on to the cans properly in the begging and now can’t attch to them well enough to cut them at all.

Fine product; works like a dream. My old hands were once strong, but not so much anymore. This solves all my difficulties with all the "can goods" I receive from my food Bank. Worth every penny social security provides me in retirement. Entitlement be damned, you fake human beings!

This product isn't just bad, it's very dangerous! When it finally opens the can there are slivers of metal everywhere. I won't use it for fear of hurting my family. I would not buy this item again.

my only complaint is that it has to go around twice to open most cans. but it does work, and wasn't that expensive. I bought this battery powered model mostly in case of power outage.

I love this can opener!!! I've gone through several this year. Many are made cheaply and break easily. This can opener does all the work for you!! No more sharp edges, and no more hand turning!!! Love it!!!

I got this, and after inserting four AA batteries tried it out. It didn’t seem to cut well. It’s also bigger than I thought it’d be. So it’s been returned.
