This charger needs a separate power source.
Bought this to replace my Q6 lite, which I've had for 3 years, without a problem. I burnt it up plugging a battery in backwards. This was direct replacement. The first one had a defective rocker switch, but Amazon replaced within a couple days. This one works well, and I hope it lasts as long as my Q6 lite. Not sure whether rocker switch is better than rolling switch though. Hard to beat for the price and features.

Great value & worked well. The single rocker interface button is anoying.
I have the Q8 and love it. I needed an extra charger and saw this for under $30 and jumped on it even though the reviews pointed out the deficiency of the button. The charger works well if you can get beyond the rocker selecting an amperage while you're scrolling for the one you want. If you only have a couple of similar batteries it will save up to 3, I believe, and you won't have to scroll that much.

Good Charger but Frustrating User Interface
This is a decent charger. Charges up my 6S 4500mah packs at full amps, which my previous setup was unable to do. Interface is OK but the button/input sucks. The previous iteration of this model had a "rolling log" input which I hear was much easier to use. After using it for some time I have figured it out a bit better and my advice is this:Don't try and be ginger and delicate with the control pad. It is both the directional pad as well as the "accept" and "go back" buttons and will likely be a bit frustrating at first. Be firm and quick when you want to press "accept" and especially "back". You can also hold the up or down side of the "d-pad" for lack of a better term as an alternative to trying to press the left side of the pad exactly in the middle. Back is on the right with no easier way to do it as far as I know. Also, when you're first setting up the charging functions it takes forever to scroll down to the proper amperage if you have a decently sized pack like most of mine are. 5000mah requires literally 50 button presses as the cursor moves down in .1 amp increments. If you hold the button to try and quick scroll it will select whatever you stopped on and try to charge at that rate. Once you have it set though it will save in memory. There are 3 slots. If you have need more than 3 different charge rates you can select the one in memory that is closest to where you want to be and move up or down from there to save time. Frankly the button design is awful but otherwise I like this charger. I have 3 sizes of packs I use most often so it isn't too bad in my case. I am a bit concerned long-term about the longevity of the little d-pad sice it needs to be pressed a lot to use the charger. Don't forget that you need a DC power supply. I got a 360w 24v switching power supply for 20 bucks from Amazon at the same time I ordered this unit. The advantage of the switching boxes is that you can daisy-chain them in parallel to get more amps if you need to in the future. Check other places online, one popular auction site has the same type of switching p/s units for very low prices sometimes. There are also ready-made high current 24v power supplies made just for these types of lipo chargers available on Amazon or online hobby stores. Don't get the 12v units. The limiting factor in running these chargers is the amount of amperage the will pull. A 12v p/s will not be able to run most of these chargers at their full capacity. You will need at least 24v, the switching boxes can usually be adjusted up a bit in voltage so that you will need fewer amps. Mean Well is the most common brand for these p/s boxes. They are low-cost and generally reliable in my experience. Make sure that your power supply can supply more amperage at the appropriate voltage (24-30 volts) than the charger needs to do it's job. The p/s box will get fairly hot and they can get smelly from plastic and electronics off-gassing inside the hot casing. This creates an unpleasant smell as well as being less energy-efficient. Generally I try to shoot for having double the amps on my supply than what my charger can pull from it. Even at less than half, like what my setup uses, I still got some funky smell from my p/s, though it wasn't overwhelming. Hope this all helps, there is loads of information available online if you want to know more.

Incorrectly reads cell voltages
Worked well for a few charges, now always shows cell 2 as ~1v lower than others and faults. I have two other chargers that both show the cell voltage correctly and agree with my multimeter. Also, very difficult to navigate the menus with the button

good value for airsofters
I use this to charge my small 3s lipo batteries that I use for airsoft and it is extremely simple. Just make sure your settings are right for your battery and it will balance, charge, storage and or discharge. After several minutes of charging, the internal fan will turn on and it will make a little bit of noise but it's not annoying. The only annoying thing about the Q6 nano is the button. There is only one button on the whole thing and it is for up, down, left, right and the select button which is a center press. Think of it like a dpad of a controller but it was one square piece of plastic and it has a center press to hit select like R3. Hitting select with the button is annoying because I always end up accidentally pressing up or down instead of hitting the start charge button and I have to fiddle with it for a bit. Otherwise, amazing value for a smart balance lipo charger. Airsofters, don't use any crappy wall chargers. Do your research and get a smart charger. It will save you from dealing with a house fire. It also comes with a screen protector but I suck with those and got a bunch of cat hair under it so I just threw it away.

Yes the rocker switch has a learning curve, but this thing works.
Hooked to a 12v 30a power supply, charged 2s, 3s, 5s, 6s packs.I like the quick adjust for peak voltage and pack type.I like the easy view on the pack ohms. Not a real strong discharger, 10w limit = less than 0.5amp on a 6s.Great charger for the price.Of the nearly dozen chargers I have, one of the smallest chargers I have. Will likely buy a few more when needed.

Interesting Button Setup, Perfect Pocket Charger
I'm biased, I love iSDT chargers and use them exclusively. This lil guy was kind of an impulse buy, but I am so glad I did..It is TINY, so I can just keep it permanently in my shoulder bag so I always have it no matter the situation. The interface is the one I know and love, the screen is plenty bright to use during the day, and the double-button works just fine once I figured out how to use it.A perfect addition to my iSDT collection.
