This worked great for me!
I have a 16 year TRANE split system and my evaporator coil had never been cleaned to my knowledge. PROUD DIY person here and glad you can buy this sucker on Amazon! My local HVAC wholesalers won't sell this or anything else to the public. I've lived in the house for 6 years and getting access to the coil was difficult and it took me a while to decide to clean it. The side panel of the evaporator case was bolted on but had holes where the refrigerant lines for the compressor went through. I used sheet metal sheers to carefully cut through to remove the metal around the lines to pull the panel off. This is how I could tell the evaporator coil had never been cleaned.Access to the front of the coil is limited as the copper lines were in the way. I have small hands for a guy and can't even fit one hand in there into the front of the coil to brush off or remove any dirt. I could see chunks of dirt/dust and a film of the same across the coil fins. Unfortunately I can't see directly down into the fins as the access doesn't permit it. The backside had better access to it and looks relatively clean. But again it's the backside of the coil furthest from the blower motor and direction of the flowing air. I have a air compressor and carefully used a 90 degree angle blow gun from the backside to loosen dirt on the coil. I used the Nu Calgon Talon and the Nu Calgon No Rinse Foam coil cleaner on both sides of the coil. It foamed up in most places. This Talon worked great getting to the front side of the coil. Most of the front side of the coil was sprayed at a angle but it was the best I could do with it. The Talon is pricey and I was hesitant to buy it as $30 isn't cheap for something like this. But it isn't a piece of junk and is put together well. Packaging doesn't say made in China so I'm hoping it was made here by a fellow American. I like to support the American worker!I had to spray then pull it back out many times and respray again. The weight of the steel line lowers it and I had to do a lot of re adjustment. But this is no fault to the Talon as fully extended out 27 inches attached to a can as it is going to lower from the weight of the steel line if you don't hold it . And I can't fit one hand in there to hold the end of the Talon because of how tight it is in there. Without it I couldn't have cleaned the coil at all! It was just a flexible as I needed. I'm very happy with buying this and using it for clean my evaporator coil. The majority of the dirt and chunks on the surface of the coil was removed. I washed it off with water from a chemical sprayer because it's not hot enough to use the AC yet. And boy was that water that drained out was NASTY! After I got done from what I could tell a lot has come off all thanks to this Nu Calgon Talon and Evaporator Coil Cleaner. I did put a cleaning solution in my condensation drain before and after cleaning the coil because of the amount of dirt that came off. I would buy this again and recommend it to others. Yes, it's going to have its limits as everything does. Buying Pro HVAC tools with better access would cost hundreds more. I'm very satisfied.

Glad I have this adapter!
So your laying on your side, the bottom section of the return grill is eating into your rib cage and the half full can of coil cleaner isn't shooting cleaner because you have the can oriented sideways. I finally pulled this out of the van last week because I had three half full cans of Evap cleaner, this little dude works, it allows you to put the cleaner where you want it. This little guy is a nice to have item that I'm very happy to have in my arsenal for cleaning coils. It works very well and attaches very easily. The wand is stiff so you can orient it to fit your needs. The only thing I can think to make it better would be to put a fan type nozzle on it. The current nozzle shoots the cleaner out in a very tight stream. All in all, nice product that works.

Leaves lots to desire
Does not connect tight on can end. It's understandable because the tube is pretty stiff but it moves to the point where the spray can leak from the connection or risk breaking the tiny tube protruding from the can.The tube is basically a tiny spray tube surrounded by a steel flex tube. The steel flex tube is stiff making it easy to shape but also makes it awkward to direct and difficult to make sharp turns should you need to make one. If you are using this for a car, look elsewhere. For home, I doubt you'll need this.
