General Oil 1603 11BV-RK Gar-Ber Spin-On Fuel Oil Filter

Received the filter and gauge both damaged and defective. Unfortunately, because the product box and shipping box were both undamaged, I didn't look at my filter right away. After discovering the damage and having to proceed with my install, I contacted the seller for a warranty replacement damaged parts. The responded that Amazon does not allow that and I had to ship it back for a replacement, which in this case was not possible. "IF" the seller would have inspected this box before shipping it, this would not have happened. I have resorted to purchase a new gauge separately. This box did not have a security seal, and could be inspected before being shipped. Installation is very easy. Use a fuel rated pipe thread sealer for fittings. Do not use white Teflon tape, it is not rated for fuel.

I must say when I came across this product my first thought was to head to a junk yard and purchase a filter housing from a Mercedes, Audi or almost any diesel powered car or truck. Of course it was much more convenient to have Amazon ship this one to my front door. Seriously, I’m thinking it’s not as environmentally friendly as the older style filters. But the convenience and cleanliness of a canister style filter cannot be ignored.

Hundred percent complete kit with everything you need. I always put two of these in line between the oil tank and the oil burner. Yes double up on your filters. Oil burner will run much much better and more reliably if you do so.

Added this to my current set up to help filter out more debris that was clogging up the old General 1A25A filter. Original old filter set up was good but this will help with the junk in the tank that keeps getting sucked into the system. Easy to install before the original filter, add shut offs before and after so you can control the flow for changes. Hoping this will allow the furnace to run longer than a few months until clogged again.
