The soft interior material is only at the ankle and did not appeal to my nephew who has sensory issues. We were able to find pants for him that had smooth, soft material lining the entire garment, allowing him to wear the pants without feeling the rough side of the material on his legs. I was disappointed that the image shows a soft, dimpled lining, only to find out that is apparently just for asthetics and doesn't line the inside of the pants.
