Review from a 50-year old, Small business owner, Flashlight & Laser builder, Modder & Geek in general.
I have many years experience installing, Repairing and Replacing outdoor lighting, outlets & wiring them. Most or should I say almost ALL where cheap CRAP that didn't work properly or last up to or over a year without failing in some manor. With that said, I found RAB products here on Amazon. I read ALL the negative reviews, compare to number to the positive and determine if that person has any idea what their talking about, or just opened the box and wrote a review without actually installing it themselves, knowing other brands and see if it passed the true test of time. THEN I pick a product that survives my scrutiny of the reviews. So I purchased RAB components to build a security dusk to dawn duel floodlight over the large garage I have. The old unit was crap & installed by a complete retard. So I had to start by removing EVERYTHING including the connection box and wiring all the way to the breaker box ( Where the idiot that the whole garage could run on 2 20amp circuit breakers... DUH!). Now I'm updating the fuse box, wiring connection boxes, RAB (4 hole) Mounting plate, RAB 2 Flood Light Fixtures and 1 RAB Highly rated Sensor. First thing us installers notice is quality. These parts where impressive! Installation was a breeze, functionality was?is perfect!I was so impressed that over a year of use through earthquakes, rain, hail and power surges that fried almost everything else in the house & garage, The units still look and work great, So I purchased a few more for myself and family members. All of those units are still operating. One thing I did different was to install 25WATT 2500lm PAR38 COB LED floodlight bulbs that have a cool White Color Temperature : 6000K-6500K. This make the lighting not only spread more evenly, looks more like natural daylight and allows you to see further. Its Very impressive, so much so even the local Police stopped by and asked what i used to make such a quality light. Something to note: The COB LED flood lights have a weakly installed base and it was a must to keep ANY moisture out.Well the RAB H101W - 150 Watt Max. - PAR38 - Landscape Lighting - Flood Fixtures have excellent seals and fit (and in my case) fit snugly around the bulbs to help protect them.My suggestion, no matter what bulbs you use, is to coat the rubber gasket & socket area with dielectric grease. This will not only aid in sealing, but will prevent the bulb from seizing and possibly breaking off at the base when attempting to replace the bulb(s).YES I Highly recommend ANY RAB Products and will continue to purchase nothing but RAB products, because there is nothing like doing the job TWICE because you skimped the first time.

good so far
It works so far which has been about a month. I had to replace another brand unit that failed within one year. The old one worked to a greater distance which was nice, but I would rather have one that works. This one is good for about twenty feet or six meters at maximum which is what I have it set to for my relatively long driveway. The position adjustments are a little weird and weak. One of them has tiny teeth, so be sure to loosen before rotating because you could easily shear the teeth. The other appears to have no teeth and is not locked in place too much; I tightened the screw to keep it in place well enough. If it lasts years, then it will be worthwhile.

and was happy with them
Failed completely. Wouldn't detect for 10'. I've put several of these in, in the past, and was happy with them. This time I ordered 2 from 2 different vendors, from 2 different places in the country. Both failed dismally. Apparently RAB has discontinued making a quality product. I'll never face the embarrassment of installing these again, and having customers call me to tell me they failed, then wasting my time to stand behind them.

Finally a Motion Sensor the WORKS like it should … (Update: but a generic sensor from HD actually works better)
I recently installed a doggie door and wanted the back patio light to go on when the dogs when out. I tried two other motion activated lights and the both were inconsistent regarding turn on, and had numerous false alarms; both of which are annoying. I ended buying an LED patio light with a motion sensor from Home Depot; I loved the LED light which was bright and energy efficient, but the motion sensor was horrible. It would go ON many times during the course of the evening. I removed the lights motion detector and wired up the RAB, and it worked perfectly… goes on the instant my dogs exit the doggie door, and has NEVER had a false alarm even in gale-force winds and rains. Thank You RAB for making a motion sensor that does what it is supposed to do. I don’t write many reviews, but I felt compelled to let other know the there really is a difference, and RAB is the best I’ve tried. After a year or so, my dogs stopped reliably setting it off (again recall that I am using it for when my dogs exit the doggie door). I tried repositioning it, and even called RAB customer service; who were great. They suggested I try going back to a halogen fixture, which I did; but to not avail ....I still couldn't get it to reliably trip when my dogs exited. I finally replaced it with a replacement sensor I picked up at a local Big Box store and after using some tape to restrict the tripping zone (to prevent false trips from near by items) it works better than the RAB sensor ever did.So given my recent experience, I'm going to done grade my rating for 4-Stars, since it will probably work great for what most people use it for, but for doggie-door-exit sensor it was surpassed by a generic sensor..

Perfect set of features but didn't last in higher outdoor temperatures.
The range and angles of detection were more than adequate. It powered two 7W CFL bulbs with no sweat. Easily configurable timeout duration after sensing motion. Has a light sensor so it can be configured to not turn on the lights during the day.Everything about this seemed perfect, so why only 3 stars? It only lasted just over 1 year. On the day it stopped working, it was about 110F outside. Seeing how this sensor is rated for outdoor commercial or industrial solutions, you would think it could handle temperatures that high, but apparently not. I suppose I could have just got a lemon, but the coincidence of it failing on one of the hottest days of the year is too much to ignore.EDIT: RAB customer service was really good. They told me, even though the sensor doesn't officially support CFL bulbs, they would still send me a replacement if I wanted. Since I wanted one that supports CFL bulbs, I declined the offer, but it was a very nice gesture nonetheless.
