IT WORKED - Used to rebuild petcock on 1997 FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic
I took a chance and this worked to rebuild the diaphragm on the petcock for my 1997 FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic. The OEM petcock was stamped "Japan" and I figured this rebuild kit might work. The inner diaphragm (the one closest to the fuel) was maybe just a bit smaller than mine. OR it could have been my inner diaphragm was bigger than usual because it was in touch with the gasoline....and maybe that's why it stopped working. I couldn't find any obvious tears in my old diaphragm but the rubber was definitely stretched and the old one was not holding a vacuum.NOTE: For the rebuild, you have to save the round plastic disc in the middle of both diaphragms. I was able to pull the rubber nipples out and then squeeze the new rubber nipples of the new diaphragm into the plastic disc. I used a brake bleeder vacuum pump to test it and it worked perfect.
