A most enjoyable nostalgia trip.
For anybody who grew up in the 1940s or 50s this video will bring back memories of those wishful plans we had when we saw the Christmas time store layouts or the great annual Lionel wish books (catalogs).

LET'S EXAMINE THE VIDEO QUALITUY
A post on the Lionel Showrooms stated "The Video Quality Could Be Better."I would like to know "Could it?"Although DVD's have the capacity for high quality picture, the final results depend on the sources used. The first edition of this title was released June 29, 1985 by the Toy Train Operating Society. It was released on VHS. The title was never put on laserdisc.Tom McComas obtained the rights and released the same material on DVD.Now, to fully settle this question, we have to know how the transfer was done. Was the original negative run through and through today's technology? NO! "Iron Ponies" was taken from a much-used 16mm film. One can tell through the splices. There was little anybody could do to improve that Lionel promo unless the original negative was available and I don't even know where this 16mm copy came from."The Railroad Story" was another transfer from the VHS tape. The negative was long missing and the splices give this fact away.Same statement applies to what I call, that "terrible puppet show" called "The Wonderful World Of Trains. We are lucky to have these films available today, period! Sure, the video could be drastically improved if the negatives were found, but chances are, they all have disappeared. Universal (who owned Castle Films, producer of "The Railroad Story) had a fire some years ago and all the masters went up in smoke and are gone!Just enjoy what you have!

Lionel Showroom Layouts
Video quality could be better. Need to see more accessories working rather than talking and trains going around. Still, well worth the childhood memories.
