Great, just everything is in metric
If you have a torque wrench that doesn't do Nm, then you'll need to do some conversions (1 Nm is 0.737562149 ft-lbs). Otherwise, it is a great reference guide for half the cost of the factory service manual. One thing to note - it says for removal of the front wheel that you have to remove the front fender, that is incorrect, you do not need to do so if you raise the front of the bike enough. The front fender is easily scratched upon removal and reinstallation (ask me how I know!).

Great value
Bought this thru the UK because the US version only goes through '05. This goes through 2009 - I have an '07. Just thought it would be better to have the newest version - not sure why they didn't update the US version. Looks like it has everything I need. The manual notes it covers '02 thru '09 US versions, so it's not a Euro only kind of thing. That said, most of the measures are done in metric (liters, millimeters, etc) so you may need a little conversion - which they provide a cross-reference for on a page near the back. Why the US hasn't converted to a measurement system that logically unites height, weight and volume is beyond me. Death to inches and feet, ounces and pounds, and pints and gallons!

Helpful guide, could use a better index
This guide and the photos included all proved helpful, but it definitely could use a more comprehensive index--it's just too paltry.

Barely substantial to perform an oil change
Haynes could not compose a clear, complete, and concise manual on the proper way to open a can of soda, let alone anything for vehicles in all their complexity. If you're going to spend money on a service manual, buy the shop manual.

Fantastic as usual
This is the third Haynes book I buy, I bought one for the the machines I have owned. As usual the Haynes is absolutely FANTASTIC for whoever wants to do mechanical workon his bike by himself and save BIG money by simply browsing the book and NOT go to themanufacturer's shop. This particular bike is very complex and high-end technology, but the bookproved to be a perfect guide to doing the things right the first time.I absolutely love it !!!

Haynes VFR Manual
The manual did exactly what I wanted. It is very thorough and clear, and the explanation of even basic tasks is far better than the Honda Owner's Manual
