This coat should honestly be in the hall-of-fame of coats. This coats easily matches frigid-weather coats costing hundreds more.This coat is made by Striker out of Hudson, Wisconsin and is the “Striker Ice CLIMATE”. Yes, it is purpose-designed to meet the extreme cold weather needs of ice fishermen but is fantastic for someone like me who was on the hunt for a feature-packed, high quality winter coat.The coat’s numerous plastic loops for hooking things and it’s pockets feature water resistant zippers which were all generously deeper than I expected. The waist zippered pockets have a softer material that is comfortable to bare hands with the high quality insulation of the coat providing nice hand warmth. The pouch waist pockets are roomy with easily accessible flaps. The adjustable Velcro sleeves minimize air infiltration and the dual flaps that cover the coat’s main zipper magnetically clasp shut. The hood recesses your head just enough for wind protection and has a stiffening wire in the upper curve of the hood to keep it open and retain its shape. One great feature is that like some other coats it has an exceptional removal inner liner that also functions as it’s own jacket, complete with superb insulation and zippered pockets as well. For those operating near water, the coat also features a potentially life-saving flotation feature that is rated to last up to 2-hours.I cannot praise this coat enough. It is a fantastic, no-brainer value in design, functionality, materials, and construction. Experiencing mountains with this coat was one of the most comfortable experiences. Just get it!

This fishing jacket is definitely worth the money. Superb quality and craftsmanship. It held body temperature on Lake Erie open water for December walleye fishing. The large fit a 5'11" 165# man perfectly. I would 100% recommend.

I did not get what I paid for with this parka. I GOT MORE THAN I PAID FOR WITH THIS PARKA!!! People, don't waist your time or money messing around with REI, or Eddie Bauer, or any of those other yuppie supply outfits. This is not some fashionista "parka" for the latte-sipping "urban outdoorsman". This is not some cool-guy gear you buy for a once a year "get back in touch with nature" walk. If you want to be warm and dry in extreme weather, buy. This. Parka! Protected pockets everywhere! WaterPROOF! Detachable hood! Detachable, wearable liner! Windproof! Perfect fit! This thing is a steal at this price. I ride a motorcycle 90 miles a day year-round, even in temps in the twenties and teens. This thing is gonna keep me warm through all of it. I almost wish winter would stick around for a couple more months so I could thumb my nose at it!

Bought this jacket last year at the beginning of the winter season. Used it all winter snowmobiling and ice fishing in Northern Maine. The jacket is exactly as advertised. Super warm, water proof, comfortable and has plenty of pockets for small gear stuff. The inside liner is a second jacket that can be worn by itself. I just wore the outer shell as the winter came to an end and it was great. We'll see how it holds up in year two, but my impression on year one is exceptional. Great product!

Arrived as described. With respect to performance, as a long time motorcycle rider, I would suggest adding a folder over flap on the two large, outer pockets to prevent water coming into the pockets and items falling out. It has plenty of pockets relative to the layer, but accessible all at once. Keep in mind, too many pockets may add to confusion where things are kept. In heavy rain and temperature in the low 40s, I was warm and dry wearing both inner layer and shell. So much so, I wore the inner layer (jacket) and had my kid wear the outer layer to in order to stay dry because their - Eddie Bauer - jacket was not keep the water away. This way, we were able to stay warm and dry - in pouring rain and 15 mph wind gusts - for more than 30 minutes until we reached a dry location. Occasionally, while wearing the inner jacket by itself, some rain did get in from my neck collar. However, while a higher collar may have solved the issue, not sure if it would have caused another, different issue when wearing the outer shell. While an expensive jacket, I was happy to have it perform and meet my requirements for buying. While wearing both inner jacket and shell, I was very warm and had to "unzip" and still stayed dry. When wearing the inner jacket only, my core was still warm and dry with the rain water beading up on the outside. The hood has a wire that keeps it up so you have unobstructed vision.

I only give this jacket 4 stars because it's almost too warm! This jacket is true to size, ideal for ice fishing with tons of secure pockets. It has an accessory or tool hanger/ring on the left chest that is great for fishing pliers or a small flashlight.

I was hesitant because of the price. But I can literally wear this jacket for a all around seasonal jacket!! Love it!
