The JAJA ProStart Campfire Starter is one of the coolest camping items to come along in years. It will start your campfire in 5 minutes or less using only a standard 16oz propane cylinder. It doesn't get any faster or simpler than that. You don't need kindling or dangerous gasoline products to start your fire. No wads of crumpled smoke billowing newspapers. No lingering gas fumes. Just you and the JAJA. It evens comes with a FREE sparker to light it. On a personal note the JAJA has started many fires for me while camping or at the backyard fire pit but once at a campground it started a load of, campground supplied, soaking wet pine, much to our amazement. Without the JAJA we would have been cold and wet but the JAJA saved the day and the weekend.Uses standard (easily available) 16oz propane cylinders. No lingering petroleum smell.Durable long lasting construction.Flared tip creates excellent flame coverage.Tank is a safe distance from the fire.Simplified Instructions - build a tepee of wood inside the appropriate fire ring or surface. Kindling is not necessary. Attach the propane canister to the JAJA ProStart by simply screwing it on. Light a match or strike the included sparker and open the JAJA valve. Set the JAJA in place under the wood and watch the JAJA do the rest. When the fire has started turn the valve off and remove the JAJA. Carefully place it away from the fire and away from other campers as it is very hot. In a few minutes when it is cool put it back in the box..Before use please read all included instructional and safety material..30"x8"x1.5".Wt. 1lb. 9oz..

Avoid - Potentially DEADLY
Wet wood is no match for this. Saved the night a few times this summer, the only one with a campfire lift after two days of heavy rain.Update : June 20, 2015. DO NOT BUY! DEADLY! I loved this product until it almost killed me and my family. Used it last summer and was just great. Went to use a few weeks ago and after it was lit noticed fire from the threads of the bottle. Was a very scary moment, difficult to shut off with flames all around the on/off knob. After a close inspection noticed the seal is cork, not rubber. Cord dried out and leaked.

Great Product When it was made by Bernzomatic in USA
I owned this type of product made by Bernzomatic for 20 years or more and never had any trouble. I gave it to my son so he could start fires in his wood-burner. It still works today. A LOT!!!!. But than again it was made in the U.S.A. I decided I needed one for myself. So I went to Bernzomatic and they did not have it anymore. Than on amazon I find the JAJA ProStart Campfire Starter. Wow!!! I ordered it I got it I used it then the CORK GASKET for the GAS CAN!! fell out in pieces. Thank The One Above!! it did not catch fire. I would never use this in side the house like my son uses the old U>S>A Made Bernzomatic for lighting his wood-burner. Bernzomatic made a Great Product that was just like this and it will last ho knows Forever? This thing from CHINA I do not know. Plus just try to CALL CALL JAJA CAMPING SUPPLIES. There is no number to call them. What the HELL. Run and Hide.

More Like Johnny Blaze
I have had a fire starter for +20 years made by BernzOmatic, so they no longer makes this product. I believe BenzOmatic sold the business to JAJA. I love my starter so much that I bought the JAJA ProStart Campfire Starter for my son and dang this is like a blow torch! My older starter is similar to a candle. This fire starter can get the most difficult to near green wood a blazing.I have read complaints on the quality of the cork washer, well if the one I bought has that issue, then I'll visit my local hardware and just buy a new washer.

Everyone in my family has one of these now!
This campfire starter is the next best thing to sliced bread! We first came across one when my daughter bought her house. The former owner had left it. No more searching for twigs or standing there stuffing paper under damp logs trying to get the campfire going while uttering several of those words. Turn this on and sit down in your lounger.

Not as good as the now discontinued Burns o matic but it ...
Not as good as the now discontinued Burns o matic but it works. The control valve is touchy... slightest turn and the flame goes from very small to full blaze crazy on. I like the longer tube than the old Burns o matic had.Like the fact that this thing will even get green wet wood going in no time with less smoke and trouble. Have one at home and one in the RV...

Wish I knew about this years ago.
Best tool ever! So much easier than starting a bonfire the old fashioned way. I got my dad to use it at the cabin. Wish I knew about this years ago.

Works great!
This works great. When I opened the box I was skeptical because the flame comes out pretty narrowly -- I was expecting a wider flame. I use this in my indoor fireplace which does not have a gas starter. But once you put it under the wood, the wood causes the flame to spread out, so it works just fine. Much better than using newspapers or chemical logs

Best tool EVER!!!
If you have a fireplace, wood stove, camp or just have a fire pit in your yard this is a must have. No more blowing on the fire until you nearly pass out. No more pathetic fires that never seem to get going. Light this and put it in the center of your fire stack and leave it until you have a roaring fire. Simply the easiest way to get a fire going.
