Product Description 2LP in Gatefold Sleeve About the Artist Tim Burton's 2005 adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's book was conceived as long ago as 1991, and was in development for several years before Burton was involved in the production. He immediately brought regular collaborators Johnny Depp and Danny Elfman aboard. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory represents the first time since The Nightmare Before Christmas that Elfman contributed to a film score using written songs and his vocals. The film was released to critical praise and was a box office success, grossing $475 million worldwide. The wonderfully quirky melodic score and songs from one of Hollywood's great composers harks back to Edward Scissorhands, Burtons' and Elfman's most personal work, and is a return to the composer's 'vintage' sound from the late 1980s and early 1990s. 'It was more fun than I ever had working on a movie. It was so crazy and doing all the vocals was so much fun. I found myself falling into voices, singing vocal mannerisms. I was having such a gas'.

Just what I was expecting
My son is a huge fan of the movie and I bought this so we could play the songs especially in the car going to and from his pre-school. Needless to say it's had more of an outing than that - my son loves putting the music on and trying to recreate the Oompa Loompa dances from the film, which has us in fits!In it's own right it's a very moody but evocative soundtrack, just what I'd expect from Danny Elfman, so musically very good, but my major entertainments comes from my son's dancing as a result of track 2 to 5.

Great soundtrack
My six-year-old son loves this film and he goes to sleep listening to this album. In his own words, it is his 'favourite CD' and you can't go wrong with Danny Elfman (of Spiderman fame I believe). It does what it says on the tin - great value and a sound investment!

mouthwatering music to accompany a truly scrumptious movie
Is there a more perfect combination in the movie business than that of Johnny Depp and Tim Burton? Yes Danny Elfman and Tim Burton of course! Elfman scores for all of Burtons movies. Each time the music is unique and fanciful but always identifiable as the work of seriously talented composer. This music he has compsed for charlie and the Chocolate Factory (his latest collaboration with Burton) is both beautiful and zany, the instrumentals working to weave extra magic into the storyline, and the Oompa Loompa dittys serving to entertain us with upbeat and funny tunes alongside Dahl's original lyrics. Overall I have to say one of Elfman's best scores yet.

Wonkarrific
A masterpiece. One of Danny Elfman's best soundtracks. Comprising of 21 tracks, each one is indivdually unique and brilliant. Those who are already fans of his work will notice the use of certain types of music from his other scores including; Spiderman, Edward Scissorhands, Batman and The Nightmare Before Christmas. My favurite track is 'Main Titles.'Truly as sweet as chocolate itself!
