Best Translations For Elegaic Poetry!
What a fascinating book, with great translations of a few different Greek poets. The BEST translations I can find on the works of Mimnermus, Solon, Theognis and Tyrtaeus.I look forward to reading this book in my spare time over the summer.

another much needed revamped loeb
Volume b y volume, Loebs are being re-edited, invariably for the better and this is no exception. The strange and sometimes barely comprehensible mock poetic English of the earlier Loeb translations has been deservedly banished.

A fine new edition.
The older edition of the Loeb Elegiac Poetry had an English translation that was at times nearly incomprehensible. One will still need to consult the Greek, but this is now a very usable volume.
