These are entirely metal, it looks like 3 different types (barrel-aluminum; threaded gripper tips-brass or similar?; and knurled threaded caps-stainless steel?). The materials are similar to the Derwent large pencil extender (I have 1), however the "brass" material is thinner. The barrel has a satin-appearing finish, with comfortable grip and diameter, the knurled caps also provide a secure, comfortable grip (again, similar to the Derwent large extender).They feel substantial, each weighs about 19 gm (the Derwent holder, which is single-ended, weighs 12 gm). In comparison, my other pencil weights (unused) are Derwent Drawing 9 gm; Luminance, Polychromos, and (Derwent) Lightfast all 6 gm.My main reason for 4 Stars instead of 5: The wide-diameter end (tightened internal diameter 9 mm) will not snugly hold any of my above-named pencils (all are 8 mm diameter). I get a snug fit by wrapping a narrow strip of paper around the end of the pencil before inserting it into the extender. Among all of the extenders that I researched, this was one that had an illustration with measurements, so I knew before purchase that I would need to make some modification for use.The narrow end will snugly hold my Prismacolor Premier pencils. The hold is a little loose for my hex-sided graphite pencils; again, I'll modify with a paper strip.I'm currently using 2 of these for colored pencil stubs that are under 2 inches long. I wanted multiple extenders, as I don't want to take the time to keep changing pencil stubs to a single holder.As I've used them for only 1 week, I can't speak to durability/longevity, but I'm hopeful.Overall, I think that these are a very good value for the price, especially as it can be so difficult to fine extenders large enough for my artist-grade pencils.

Careful, even with the two sizes, they might not fit your pencil nub. I twisted one “chuck” right off by over-tightening the small side onto a traditional #2 pencil. They look nice. Work on prismacolors.

Saves so much space in a travel drawing kit by holding 2 pencils, lightweight and very sturdy. Really worth the cost.

This suck.They should be recalled.The heads are held by plastic not very smart when the pencil is harder than plastic

Very heavy. Won’t be carrying these out in the field. Wish I’d gotten bamboo holders instead.
