StetsonMen's Stetson Airway Vented Panama Straw Hat

This is a great hat for summers in south Texas! I’ve spent thousands of dollars over the past 40+ years trying to find a good work hat! These are light weight, hold up in the wind, allow air to pass thru to help keep you cool, and they look great! Only drawback: they only last about a year before they start coming apart. Worth every penny!

My husband wears one of these hats every day and always gets complimented when we are out in public. He chose this hat for practical reasons, though, not its great looks. Good quality, good fit (doesn't blow off, important!!), the air mesh provides cooling in our tropical environment and the solid brim provides shade. It's not a cheap hat, it's the real thing, the quality is worth the price, and they last years. He wears the newest ones for dress and then as they get older, they get relegated to "work" hats (for yardwork, etc.). Highly recommend for the serious hat wearer!!

This is my second time ordering this. I was afraid that Stetson might stop producing these, so this is a spare for when my first bites the dust, or becomes too worn to be worn other than as a work hat. The style of the hat is perfect. The air flow is great for here in the American southwest. The brim is opaque, keeping the UV off my ears and nose. The front aspect of the brim has an extra liner, making it perfect for blocking the sun while driving. It has a rawhide strap that generally rides up on the brim, but is available for when I need to keep the hat from blowing off. We get really strong winds here in the southwest on a regular basis. All serious outdoor hats need a cord. I get lots of compliments when wearing the hat due its style.

This is a quality hat but don't trust the size scale. The medium dropped to my ears and I wasn't sure a small would fit. I have 3 other hats, all 7 1/8. They all fit perfectly. That's my size. I have a full head of hair so that's not a factor. Therefore, I ordered some hat sizing bands from Amazon to fill in the space. Received them and that corrected the problem. Again, very nice hat.

To dispel all the negative shipping reviews I added pics of arrival. Boxed super tough in an actual hat box. Hat is perfect. 7 1/8, like I always wear. Good fit. Used steam to shape Outback style, which is what I wanted. Pot of boiling water with lid cocked. 10 min and it was right. Think I’m gonna actually wear it, which is what I need due to older age and fairer skin. Doc is pretty insistent

I am really thrilled with this Stetson hat. You couldn't ask for a better-looking and better-made summer hat. The style is great, and the sturdy construction is definitely Stetson quality. The leather hatband gives it a more rugged, Western look than most Panama hats. The brim is very wide, which is a plus if you're looking for sun protection. And it really does breathe and keep your head cool. I agree with some of the other reviewers that this hat seems to run a bit large, so you might consider ordering a size smaller than normal. I bought my normal size but ended up adding some extra padding along the sides of the inside lining to make it fit more snugly. Still, this is the perfect summer hat.

I like the look, the feel and size. I am a 7.25 or so. I got the medium and it fits. Gives me good sun protection. I also like how the hats chin strap is tied up on the back brim. I had never thought of that. I used to just tuck it inside my hat. The air vent is real nice. I have never had a hat where I could feel a breeze through my hat. Usually a hat just traps heat or the vent holes are too small. This is perfect.
