So [VINYL]

Noisy grooves
I thought that as it's a half speed remaster, care would have been taken on the manufacture. When I first removed it from its sleeve I noticed a triangular smudge or finger mark. This was audible on playback in the quiet section and between tracks. Also there is noise in the silent grooves between tracks as well as the run in and out grooves. Turn up the volume during the runout groove, and sounds like you're at the beach. This is a constant complaint about vinyl album manufacture. It should be perfect but it's not. This type of quality issue only ruins the whole point of vinyl records. My old original copy has accumulated clicks and pops but on first play was magic, clean, pristine audio. This had several pops and no way could I call it pristine. The best thing about it was that it's cheap for a half speed remaster, now you know why.So at least there's a hi-res download card that is out of date and you have to convert it by sending pictures of it and the LP.In the end , vinyl manufacture is patchy and humans have to put them into bags which is where most seem to pick up damage. (Suggestion: Use nitrile gloves and keep your coffee away from the vinyl).

Item Description Needs Updating
Description is incorrect, this is a single LP version and there is no gatefold or download code. My version is 33rpm but sounds pretty good in any case. Loses a couple of stars due to the totally incorrect item description alone but this is a classic album from Gabriel and worth the purchase at this price.

Great Vinyl Pressing (single vinyl version)
Fully deserving five stars. Some of his best work on an absolutely silent pressing with huge dynamic range. More depth and detail than I've ever heard on any previous vinyl or cd issues of this album. A revelation in the true sense of the word. The songs are in the order originally intended for the first time and the absolutely faithful packaging only enhances the experience.

It's immaculate
I've read other peoples reviews where they have had problems with their copies. Not so in my case. The pressing, sound quality and sleeve were immaculate. It's the best sounding version of this album yet and if this is one of your favourites then I'm sure that you will be glad that you brought it. As for the album, it's Peter Gabriels finest and it is a stunner.

Not perfect
Firstly I have to say I like the overall quality of the pressing. Good strong bass and excellent midrange. However I had to return the first copy I bought because at the beginning of side 2 there were 4 clicks in the opening quiet section of "Mercy Street". The second copy I received has exactly the same 4 clicks in the precisely the same place. I can only assume this is a pressing fault. I have decided to keep the album as otherwise the album is very, very good.

Excellent pressing but not quite as described
The sound is brilliant on this vinyl version. Ironically, So was one of the first cds I purchased many years ago and I was blown away by the sound quality. The more recent vinyl pressing has the same impact. However, as a number of other reviewers have pointed out, the product description is incorrect - it’s a single disc and not two discs as described. Hence 4 instead of 5 stars. Come on Amazon, get the product description updated, you’ve been told enough times.

Simply stunning
No amount of hyperbole could adequately describe the sound quality of this remastered vynil pressing of PG's masterpiece. If you haven't already revived your vynil it's worth doing so for this one album alone. Spine tingling and simply stunning audiophile quality.

Includes Sledgehammer and Don't Give Up (Duet with Kate Bush)
Classic Peter Gabriel album, I owned an original copy in the 80's but have recently started getting back into vinyl and replacing my original collection.
