Changed formula
Repellex tablets used to be so amazing and saved a lot of my landscape from being eaten. Unfortunately, if you didn't wear a mask and gloves while using them and shower immediately afterwards, you could get the tiniest taste of them that would stay with you for days and was probably unhealthful. It may be for that reason that these current Repellex tablets seem so much more mild. I no longer have the contamination problem with them, but I have to use 3-4 in the same place I used to be able to use one, and even with that, its only partially effective. Still, its the best thing I have found for deterring animals from eating ornamental flowers (I would never use this on an edible tree or garden) but it has stopped beavers from chopping down so many of our trees and deer from killing all of our other flowers (I wouldn't mind if they nibbled but they eat entire bushes!). I wish Repellex could go back to the original formula but until it does, this is still the best I can find.

These little pills work great on my Geraniums
I didn't use this batch of Repellex, but I have a cabin in northern Minnesota and the flower and feed store doesn't carry them anymore. They work great protecting the flowers we plant in pots. The deer love to eat geraniums, kind of like a salad for them. I just put two or 3 pills in the planter that are about 12-14 inches in diameter. Previous years we used the deer repellent spray, but very time it rained we had to re-spray. We haven't had a problem with the deer for the last 3 years.

My flowers have been saved
Some kind of animal was eating my flowers this Spring, I am guessing either a rabbit or deer. I have used the spray deer repellent in the past but you need to reapply each time it rains. I dug a tiny hole about 2" deep and 1" away from the plant stem, placed a tablet in the hole and covered it up with soil. I watered the flowers and within a week my flowers began to grow again. Now they're flowering and look beautiful. This product is absorbed into the plant, only needs to be applied once a year, and seems to be non-toxic. I was skeptical but now I am a believer, Thank You Repellex!

Very effective for ornamental plants
I have used this product for years with great results. It is really useful if you have occasional predation by deer, gophers or rabbits. I have found that when applied properly to healthy plants and allowed time to soak into the plants tissues via the roots, it will work well to keep deer and gophers from destroying ornamentals. I would not recommend this product to use on nectar-rich plants visited by hummingbirds, bees, or butterflies if you are trying to attract pollinators, or on anything that bears fruit. As far as I know the product is not toxic to animals, just unpleasant.I have been now using this product on several ornamental flowering plants and have found no adverse reaction by any pollinators including bees, butterflies and hummingbirds visiting the flowers. I have seen that rodents have completely avoided the treated plants in favor of untreated ones.Active ingredient is Capscasin, pepper extract, so it is non-toxic. Make sure to handle product with impervious gloves, the tablets will give you a lingering bad taste in the mouth if you mistakenly handle them with bare hands. Repellex is IDEAL for roses, lilies, annuals, or landscape trees and groundcovers. Great also if you are establishing a hedge or screen and need to keep deer off until they fill in.Where Repellex treated roses have grown over the fence, deer won't touch the foliage at all.

Wish these worked but they didn't
My landscaper suggested I try these. Waste of time and money. Our rabbits and squirrels chewed our zinnia seedlings to the ground, ignoring these altogether, almost treating them like seasoning on the meal.

Best deer repellent ever!
Best deer and rabbit repellent EVER! You have to put down the appropriate number of tablets per plant (or area). We live in the woods. I have watched deer walk right past my hosta and seen rabbits hiding in the vegetation and not had a single plant protected by Repellex touched. An earlier reviewer indicated a problem with tablet crumbling. I have not experienced this either last year or this year.

Not working
Not sure who or what has been digging up my new plants, but this has had no impact.

It works with no odor in the yard.
It takes a little while for the plant to absorb it, depending on the size of the plant, but it works for a whole season. Very pleased!
