Make sure you wear the glasses included
Nice unit. My husband has arthritis in most of his joints so my friend recommended trying red light therapy. It was a little difficult to put the battery in the right way because there were no indications on the battery which way it was supposed to go in. After we got it in right we had to charge it.When it was fully charged we used it for 1 minute at the highest intensity. He didn’t feel anything at first. After 3 sessions a day for a week, he feels less pain in his joints. It’s winter and he is usually pretty achy. Especially with high winds.Hopefully this continues to work. Be careful not to look directly or near the light. This little light is bright and we nearly blinded ourselves. So those sunglasses actually are very necessary. I hope this review helps.

its works
I think it works well. I have been using it on my dog and he is getting around a lot better. He has two torn ACls and hip dysplasia in both back hips.(We are working with his vet). The only thing I found difficult was figuring out the settings.

The Best Bang for Your buck.
First, YES, Red Light Therapy (or, photobiomodulation) works. After many clinical studies, countless research papers, and even a FDA approval, it seems that my testimonial has very little to add to such a well documented success rate. However, for what it's worth, I can attest that it does indeed work. As for this device specifically, I am more than pleased. It's extremely easy to operate, charge, and praise. Dialed in a at the clinically proven "sweet spot" (660nm) this really is a great value for a very handy helpful device... even came with a hand written note, sweet.

Weak, no safety instructions, unprotected battery, not FDA apporved
Buyer beware. This unit has no FDA-required safety instructions, and the manufacturer turns out not to be FDA registered, which is required by law. I guess safety is not a propriety in China. The product page says the unit runs on an AAA battery, which is not true. The unit comes with an unprotected lithium battery (the kind type known for sometimes exploding or catching fire). This unit has not helped with joint pain, perhaps because it seems much weaker than the FDA-cleared unit I had borrowed from a friend in the past.

Innefective and confusing to use
I got no relief from this so I don't recommend bothering with it. It is also confusing to use.

No pain relief, confusing instructions, not approved by FDA
I did not get pain relief using this, and actually found it rather alarming. The instructions say the device has three power levels, but it only has one. The light either stays on for one minute or 5 minutes or blinks (!). I could never be sure which mode it will turn on in, and sometimes it switches modes for no reason. There are no FDA-required safety instructions, so I checked with company and found out the product is not FDA cleared, and the company selling it is also not registered with the FDA. This means it is being sold illegally, so I returned it. The product comes with barely any instructions, and a "hand written" note from woman in China asks customers to e-mail her rather than to go through Amazon. The whole item feels suspect. I wonder if it is knock off of a real red light device and was just hacked together with a flashlight with red covering. That would explain a lot! So, I'm not happy with this product. I'd rather spend more for a real one.
