As I said above it covers grey and does bleed like cheaper developers.

I’ve used the Satin line for covering my grey at home for over a decade. It was recommended to me at a beauty supply store as gentle on the hair but truly permanent, and the Cover Grey was highly recommended because grey hair can be coarse and harder to color. The color is truly permanent- I’ve never experienced fading of any kind. I mix 1N and 3N for a more natural black and constantly get compliments. My hair grows fast so I need to root touch every few weeks. This is color depositing for me, no lifting so my hair is super healthy. This line has caused zero damage, never irritates my scalp and covers my grey very well. The only irritation I’ve experienced is when I got lazy and didn’t wash it out well, so be sure to really scrub your scalp. I don’t typically wash my hair more than twice a week but this is permanent color so you can wash it again as soon as you want.I use a bottle to apply and color brush to press thru to the scalp, then cover my head with a plastic bag to keep it warm for 45 minutes before I shampoo out thoroughly. You’ll need to clean up spills immediately because it will stain porous surfaces. People think my color is natural, so I would recommend the Cover Grey developer and Satin colors very highly to anyone who wants to hide their grey.

I love using this with my grey covering hair color from Satin too because I feel that my Greys don't come back so quick.

i've been using this product for more than a year and it seems to work well. I have not used other hair coloring products so cannot compare it with other products. I hear from hairdressers that color developers are mostly peroxide and almost any developer would work with any color product so I am not sure whether there is much difference between different brands of developers.

Update 09/23/2021: Strange. Product delivered without safety-seal to mouth of the bottle. Came enclosed in air-tight plastic sealed bubble package (new)...just an FYI.I add the "Cover Grey Developer" into my mixture of hair dye/color & 20 volume developer to help assure better coverage of the stubborn grey hairs. While this product is designed to use at full strength, I only add a portion to my regular 20 developer to increase coverage of grey which otherwise might turn out light and orangey instead of the medium brown. I still get good color saturation to roots so no more embarrassing orangey colored part. Recommended for anyone who has a problem with good color coverage to grey hair!

I have been using this for many years, it's not too harsh or smelly. Covers grey very well, I use the full 3oz and 3 oz tube of Satin hair color. Leave in for 40 minutes. I apply Vaseline around the hairline and on the hair of the side buns, so that my skin does not stain and the sideburn hair does not get too dark. After I rinse it all out I leave in a trader joes Hair mask for more than 20 minutes. I have thick dry, curly hair, this leaves my hair is super soft and shiny.

Satin is an Italian company. They make excellent hair dye products, reasonably priced. Their Cover Grey version of Developer is better for greying heads of hair. i've been using this for years and hair looks glossy and youthful. Great product, decent price. Buying on Amazon saves me so much time trying to hunt down the beauty supply stores that carry it. Mix 2 parts developer with 1 part Satin hair dye. Mix well. Apply with paintbrush to hair and roots. Cover with shower cap for 45 mins. Shampoo off thoroughly with COOL water (or lukewarm). Done.
