A good lightweight game that still has interesting choices every turn
Dicey Peaks is a fun push your luck dice game designed by Scott Almes and art by Andy Hepworth. It's for 2-6 players, and it says ages 8+ but a 5yo+ may be able to play. Each turn you roll dice to either climb or rest to refill your oxygen tank. Climbing gets you closer to your goal, but it uses oxygen, and the higher up the mountain you go, the less oxygen you can get by resting! Any given turn you have to decide to push your luck on rolling, and if you want to push on, or rest. Thankfully you can decide based on your first roll, so you don't have to decide blind. If you roll 3 avalanches while climbing or 3 yeti while resting, you bust and don't do anything on your turn. You can also bust by overfilling your oxygen while resting. When rolling, you always set aside yeti dice, which gives your opponents behind you at the end of the turn one free move up. It's another factor to check when pushing rolls, you might move your opponents up too if you roll yeti. Of course, maybe it can benefit you to move them. When you move via climb dice, you do the special action of the tile you land on, which you might know, or only discover when you land on it and flip it over.At the summit, there are 3 tiles, only one of which is the winning tile. The first climber there only wins if they pick the right tile. Each successive climber to reach the summit has a better chance to pick the right tile. The art is really nice, and the rule sheet has a nice design. The tiles and climber figures are good. The oxygen tanks look good, but they fall over easily and roll, so you might lose your place on the oxygen tracker. If it had a flat side or the nozzle stopped it from rolling, that would be nice. The two bluish dice colors are distinct, but since each die color let you know what symbols are most likely on them, I wish there was 3 different colors, not white and two blue.I like this game quite a bit. It's a quick game, and setup and reset is fast. There's a few extra tiles so you're not sure which ones might be in play when you're flipping tiles. The yeti moving your opponents up seems to be a good catch-up mechanic so everyone stays close, but not too close, and also doesn't get left in the dust.Dicey Peaks looks good, is easy to learn and play, and is a good lightweight game that still has interesting choices every turn. I can recommend this game if you like dice games.

Great components, fun game
This is a fun push your luck game with great components. There is some good dice chucking and I like the frosted look of the dice. There is a good amount of luck, especially at the end. However, there is some skill involved in which of the three sets of dice to use as you push your luck to climb or rest. I really like the mechanism of having a set of dice with more climbs, a set with more rests, and a set in the middle. You can add three dice and push your luck for oxygen or movement. The rules are pretty straight forward until you reach the summit. It gets a bit fidgety on the summit and the rules could be a little more clear. The younger players enjoyed the race to the top and the competition element of the game. If you like chucking dice like in King of Tokyo or Dice Throne you will like this game. People that do not like lighter games or more luck based games might not like it. The components are excellent. The cardboard player boards and tiles for the mountain are really good. You get cool climbers and oxygen tanks. The frosted dice are really good. I think the amazon price of 40$ is way too much though. Board game prices are out of control, but it does seem people are willing to pay these prices. I would pay 20$ for this game and be quite happy with my purchase. 40$, which is the current amazon price, is too high for a game that is on the lighter side like this. I have found a few of the designers games, though not complicated are sometimes complicated by fidgety rules like Warp's Edge or some of his Tiny Epic games. Overall a fun game.

Great and fast game to play with family and friends!
“Dicey peaks” is a 2-4 player push your like style game that takes about 20-50 minutes. The rules are short and easy to understand. The components are good quality, especially the tiles and the artwork matches the climbing theme. Even the dice look like they are frozen a bit lol. Game play moves quickly and is exciting enough throughout the game, even though luck is a big portion of it. The end/winning is luck based but since it is a short game, it doesn't feel like a letdown after playing. But there is still a good strategy part that you can pick a set of dice that give you the best chance to achieve what you want. There is one aspect not fully explained where you may flip a tile and go below 0 on oxygen if you have to forfeit your turn or just go to 0... conversely if you see the tile ahead of time can you move and go below 0 oxygen or not. The rules could be a bit clearer there, but in general everything else is easy to follow. The only negative point to me is the current price of the game. Considering the number of components available, not sure if it is too high of a price. But hey, I have seen a set of dice as nice as what hey have in this game for $20 before lol.Overall, the game is short and fun and in my opinion is worth buying.

Great game, especially for newish board gamers
This game is a lot of fun. It is a great gift for people who haven't progressed past the Milton Bradley stage of gaming. It's not a strange kind of story, the mechanics are still pretty simple and mainly involve rolling dice, but there is some actually choice involved, unlike that dumpster fire Monopoly. Good sort of bridge to more complicated games like Ticket to Ride or Settlers of Cataan. It's a fun game. Heartily recommend.

Luck and strategy
Players roll dice to climb yeti mountain --but watch out for yetis, avalanches, and running out of oxygen. It's a fun family game. There are tiles players use to build the game, so the terrain and challenges are different each time you play. Players get to roll dice multiple times if they choose to push their luck. It's complex enough to stay interesting, but easy to learn.
