Don't size up at all and you'll be thrilled. They worked really well for a steampunk cosplay with boots over them, but they worked with just ankle boots under them too.

These fit very well for a man of my size. It is usually difficult to find regular close, let alone anything for a "costume". These are a wonderful exception. These look really great and the material is very nice too.

I bought these pants to complete a Steampunk costume for my son. He is almost 5'9" and 175 lbs. He plays soccer, so he has larger than normal calves. The bottom of the legs (where the button down) are a bit snug but we were able to get them buttoned. They look fantastic on him! The only reason I gave a 4 star instead of five star is because the size chart was difficult to figure out. His waist is 35" (loosely measured). Per the chart, he should wear an XL. I went through all the reviews, and it seemed as if a Medium would work for him. He does have love handles so they are a bit snug. I just bought him a button expander, from Walmart, for a dollar and change. Not a big deal.Just don't make the same mistake I did... I searched for BLACK Steampunk Trousers. These popped up in my search. I bought them, because they offered Prime overnight shipping. I never saw that they were Navy (in color). So, I dyed them with 2 bottles of Black Rit Dye in my sink for an hour...and Voila! They're perfect!! :-)

Seriously one of the best buys I’ve made on Amazon. Excellent cut and quality fabric. Excellent price too. Very happy with these. I wasn’t expecting much but got a lot with this purchase!I am 6’ and 200lbs but I am not fat by any means. Waist is a 34” and these were perfect. I have very thick legs, calves and butt and the cut was on point. It is not easy for me to find pants that have enough room back there so I was pleasantly surprised to find this cut in an article of clothing that I only ordered for a costume!

These are good quality pants; I purchased a black pair of mediums for a Steampunk weekend, and wore them exclusively since I was going for an adventurer look.I can't account for fit - since they aren't designed for me. They did not fit me perfectly since they are dude pants and I'm not a dude, and I should have got the larges rather than the mediums - they can cinch tighter at the waist (though not as much as drawstring would), so if you're a person with wider hips and narrower waist, err on the side of larger to accommodate. The calves are narrow, so if you have beefy or muscular calves expect them to be a bit tight.All that said, I'll definitely be wearing them again - if you want an easy pair of pirate or steam punk or aviator pants to go with your costume, these are a good choice.

The workmanship and detail on these pants are terrific! My only minor issue was that they were just a bit larger than expected, even with the waist straps cinched in all the way. Fortunately I intended to wear a belt so it was enough to avoid them slipping at all. It's probably my fault for rounding up just a bit on sizing but my waist was right around 45" so I didn't want to chance it. The larger size meant that the fitted lower leg portion started lower than the bottom of my knee but the overall impression was still terrific.

Bought these pants for a steampunk outfit and they looked great. I'm 5"7' so the pants had a longer inseam, but instead of hemming them I just tucked them in my boots and it looked fine. I even won a costume contest with them so that was a plus. The material is great, not cheap like some other costume outfits, so I can see using these pants several times. Well made.

Great product, I’m 6’ 2”, about 200 lbs and fit, with a 36” waist. I got a size Large, and the pants were just “slightly” a bit larger than my waist size. I wore a rustic belt and that did did the trick. Perfect!!! I was getting great compliments at the masquerade party all night about how they loved the pants.

I put these down as moderately large but this was my mistake not the Pirate Dressing fault as they gave the correct measurements I just haven't fitted a medium for years. They are well made and look great on though they are more mustard than bright yellow as in the photo. I got a lot of compliments about them, overall I was very pleased I will definitely buy more just a medium next time.

These seem to have an extra couple of inches length in the leg and drown me. Unfortunately, the buttons on the lower leg make it pretty nigh impossible to alter them and while on the leg buttons, they are not adjustable. The lower leg on the photo suggests a snug fit and this is far from reality; the leg bottoms are rather loose and baggy and do not give the clean tailored look in the photo.Regretfully returning.

Just the job for pirating. Fitted very well and I thought looked great.Expensive but worth it.Would I buy again. Most definitely yes.

I rated these a 5 as the style and material are top quality. They are quite big on the thighs and bum. BE WARNED if you order and receive these and they do not fit and you have to return them.I had to pay £15 as they had to be returned to Delhi. Probably better to resell them
