Sturdy and fun
My neice and nephew loved these. The last foam sword set i bought (from another brand) were cheap and fell apart very quickly so i went for something that looked a little sturdier and these did the trick.

fun for fighting
As the headline says, these swords (comes as a pair) are great for fighting. They're a great length, and soft enough not to hurt each other. However, the foam tends to pull off the tube that extends up the middle - it's glued, just not very solidly. Additionally, the tube ends 4 or 5 inches short of the tip of the sword, and the foam tends to tear off at that point. Could it be that my kids just play too hard with them? Yes...that is certainly a possibility. However, I expect kids to play hard with these. At the very least, the tube should extend almost to the very end. I can reglue the blade back on to the tube, but repair the tip doesn't work well.

Great value for the money
We got these toy swords for Christmas and they have stood up much better than foam swords more than twice the price. It's February and they aren't broken yet, which in a house with two little knights and a princess constantly battling is impressive. I think I saw another review that was concerned about safety, but they clearly way more cautious than I am. You would be hard pressed to raise even a red mark, let alone a bruise, with these even with the most enthusiastic use.I will note that the firmer core of the sword does not extend all the way to the tip, but ends about three quarters of the length along the blade. This does make the tips a bit bendy especially after heavy use, but is probably a reasonable trade-off for safety.Update: These swords lasted from Christmas until late October before their inevitable demise due to excessive use. I think that's a record and I'm getting another set for this Christmas

kids love them, but made super cheap.
My boys loved these!! But I feel like if you have some rough playing kids, these will get torn up quickly. I had to super glue the grey part back into the red handle a few times. And the plastic support tube inside doesn’t go far enough up the sword that it makes it flimsy and what make it bend and not last long

Cheap material, safe, but breaks easily.
This didn’t quite last too long. The red sword could not even survive the packaging (not to be confused with shipping; it was fine during shipping because the box was unscathed) as evidenced by the snapped core within the foam. This resulted in the red sword not being able to support it’s own weight, and it went limp when held horizontally despite it’s “fluffy” light weight (see pic). If you push the tip of these swords against a solid surface (see last pic), you can see how far the core goes, as the tip because it bends where the core does not support it. This is highly likely to lead to the outer foam rupturing at the point where the harder core ends with heavier use. The two swords, both red and blue were held together with a rubber band that left a permanent line of demarcation on both swords. This was because the foam is made of a soft and squishy material, and the core is more rigid, but also made of a more brittle plastic. Both are probably made from cheap material (very cheap), so obviously it is of a lower quality than the more expensive foam swords on the market. At least the handles seem to be made of a slightly better firmer material and are perhaps the best aspect of these swords. When clashed together in battle, though, these swords hurt less than the more expensive foam melee weapons. This is another plus aside from the affordability and handles. It is anticipated that the blue sword will not survive since it’s counterpart is already busted from within. I cannot recommend the purchase of these, but will return to update this and possibly add star(s) if I find that the blue sword markedly outlives my expectations.

Samurai Worthy!
Fun swords that the kids loved playing with. Well designed and sturdy but did not harm anyone. Really nice toy for kids but use with supervision. Any toy can be abused without adult supervision. We had a ball “fighting” with the kids. 8, 5 and 3 year old. The one year old wanted to play but had to just sit and hold his. lol.Safe and well made.

Awesome quality, huge hit with 5 and 2 yr old siblings
This set of swords is so awesome! Very durable and sturdy. There is a firm wire inside of the foam exterior that protects the swords’ integrity when played with, but they are still soft to the touch and perfect for gentle play. We bought them for our 5yr old daughter and 2yr old son to play with, and we’ve had them for over two months now and they’ve been played with nonstop and show no signs of damage, despite being subjected to constant rough play. It’s rare and awesome to come across a gift that both of our kids love, but these swords are the exception! I’m thoroughly impressed. I’ve already put them on my Amazon list of gifts to give others because they’re such an insane value and such a huge hit! I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed with this purchase.

FLIMSY!
Very flimsy swords, not good for play. The sword blade foam wasn’t even attached to the hilt! It came off as soon as my son picked it up. No good for kids play

it is total waste of money
Please never buy this, it is total waste of money, sword last only two days!! stay away. I have not seen any better alternative, I would suggest if you still want (my kids were behind my life for a sword) make one at home using cardboard.
