These ultra-thin silicone place mats are very expensively priced for what you get. They 'cling' for about a day and then become unreliable. Difficult to wipe down in situ on the lap trays we got these for, as due to the clinginess breaking down the mats move around a lot and ruck up. As somebody else said, the place mats will not stand on their edges, so alternate ways of washing them are out of the equation. For £8.99 for the pair, I somehow get the feeling I've been ripped off, especially as these things have all the hallmarks of originating from a sweat shop in China. I have given three stars for (a) quick delivery, (b) I like the colour (more amber than orange) and (c) if I glue one side down they could be useful. However, I cannot recommend this item.

These are very very thin - was going to use as placemats but didn’t think they’d last the test of time so returned. If you want something very thin then they may be find but for day in day out use you may want to consider something more substantial.

They are not thick enough to be stored VERTICALLY, to be dryed VERTICALLY, and to be washed VERTICALLY in the dishwashers as the others I already have!!!!!!! A complete waste of money!!!!!!! I don`t know where to put them nor to use them

Would like this to be a little thicker to stop my little one lifting it up. The extra weight would also stop it sliding round on our wooden table. Saying that, it doesn't slide very much and when a sturdy bowl is on it (we use bambo), everything grips very nicely allowing him to learn to use his cutlery independently without having to chase his dinner round the table.

Bought for my toddler to sit and eat at the table without his plates sliding around. Does the job perfectly. Easy to clean too.

I use this for putting under my childrens' food bowls to stop them slipping and it does the job. Easy to clean and seem to withstand heat and cleaning.

I use these when card making, they get mucky but clean up very well.
