Hand harvested raw sweet kelp. Unique to iceland this sweet kelp has a truly delicious and milder flavor than most kelp seaweed. Seaweed iceland is a small family owned company located in a remote village on the southwest coast of iceland, all the seaweeds are dried at temperatures below 90 degrees and the process uses sustainable geothermal energy.

Good quality but not the flavor for me
When they say it's sweet, they mean it's sweet. I just tried this for a bit of fun along with the main one I wanted, the Atlantic Kombu. That stuff is great, definitely my bag. Both types have a variety of textures, some dense stuff for that good tough chew, and a few thin crispy crinkly pieces too. Just a very subtle touch of salt, not so much that eating a single piece would burn your tongue. Seems like a good brand. But only get the sweet one if you truly like sweet seaweed. I'm sticking with the ordinary kelp from now on.

Very different in flavor compared to Japanese or Korean kombu. It has a very unique taste, a bit of green tea and more like wakame. I prefer real far-eastern kombu that has a rich salty oceanic flavor, but this is great quality and it would work well in dashi based dishes that use meat (less of a fishy seafood taste).

great product
I loved this seaweed. High quality, decent prize, the assurance as far as you can tell that was free of radioactive contamination due to being harvested from the north atlantic not the pacific pocean. I'll be buying it again.

Let's hear it for Icelandic seaweed!
This Iceland kombu was clean, moist, tender, and tasty. We have had very positive experiences with this brand. It does cost more but lives up to expectations.

I use this in a lot of cooking and it's really good. It's only 1 of 2 that I know of that isn't from iffy areas of water.
