Don't think many folks know what these are actually for.
I've been using treble boosters for decades. Sabbath, early Priest, Queen, Purple, ect... all used the same typle of pedal. I play mostly jazz and use my Screaming Bird mostly as a solo boost where I can also add a little hair to the notes (without being fuzzed out/distorted). Almost always on the neck pickup of a warm sounding semi-hollowbody with heavy flatwound strings.Where these shine is using old dark amps, and long cable runs. These do NOT work that great on modern solid state/modeling amps, or brighter tube amps. Again, this isn't designed to be a overdrive/distortion/fuzz, it's a different deal.

One of the most misunderstood pedals ever
There's a lot of contempt for the Screaming Bird and similar pedals because "Treble Boost" doesn't mean the same thing to guitarists today that it did 30-40 years ago, so people expect the Screaming Bird to be a pedal that adds Treble like an EQ slider. Instead, it should be taken on its own terms for what it is: a booster that only lets through higher frequencies. This is *NOT* for adding high end to your tone or giving you searing leads; it's for boosting into an amp that has lots of gain and not a lot of treble so that you get that light, crunchy Brian May or Toni Iommi guitar sound. If you want that classic rock sound that was all over the late 70s, this will get you there provided you feed it into a nice distorted amp. It works amazingly well for that purpose, which is the reason it was made. Otherwise, it's just going to give you a harsh, narrow-band sound that's like an ice pick to your ears. This isn't because the pedal is "bad;" it's just because it's usually used wrong. Maybe we need a new word for "Treble Booster" pedals that doesn't confuse people. If you want something that can give you brighter lead tones or add treble without cutting the rest of your signal, get an EQ pedal instead.

I See Why It's Screaming!
I have tried several similar units and built a few of my own. This bird is screaming cause it's hurting. Tinny sounding. Did not like.

Awesome
This thing definitely is a treble boost. I put it in front of a fuzz face because it was too muddy, it sounds great for leads but I don't use it for rhythm. I gives me that extra boost for a solo that comes out crips and louder. I recommend it.

I don't like it, noisyand too shrill
This pedal is noisy and cuts the low frecuencies extremely, too much to my taste. I tried another treble boosters without problems.I wasted $43.

Not the boost I was expecting
More noise than scream. Might work for a touch of harmonic distortion, but not for lead boost. I recommend hearing it at your local music store before buying. Just saying. ;-)

simple hi-pass filter..... NOT a booster
Warning. This is a simple hi-pass filter..... NOT a booster. When engaged, the hi-pass filter cuts all low and mid frequencies and completley changes your overall sound to a hi frequency notch and the single pot simply controls the volume. To be useful, the pot should be a blend of the hi-pass signal and the straight signal. If this was the case, This unit would be incredible. I am surprised EH is responsible for making this useless item as it is.I love the Electro-Harmonix LPB-1 Linear Power Booster Preamp Pedal.

There is no worse pedal than this.
Ehx is usually a pretty reliable company. An innovative , creative and solid company. This pedal is basically a "sound like s#!t button"Step on the switch and boom, instant crappy sound. Doesnt matter what rig you're running, you got a LP going into a vintage cab? No worries, with this pedal you can make your rig sound like s#!t. Your playing a used samick that you picked up in a yard sale for $40, through the auxiliary Jacks of a RadioShack mixer and into a no name Chinese battery powered ghetto blaster with only one speaker? Yes, you to can even sound worse by using this pedal!Complete waste of moneyI'm not even going to try to resell it or send it back. It deserves to be destroyed.

Should be Called the Screetching Nails on Chalkboard Bird
From what I understand, a good treble booster should allow the bottom end to come through while accentuating the mids and highs. To my ears this pedal sucks out all the low end and what remains sounds like two cats going at each other. I've never returned a pedal so quickly in my life.

Does what it supposed to do. Hight end is too high. There should be a wider variable range

Too Much Treble.
If you want a treble only sound this is good but it gave me a headache when I used it. I was able to return it for a full refund so I didn't lose any money.not a recommended pedal

Not good enough for me sadly
While this may be a good product for some people, i can assure anyone who has a Brian May guitar and after that specific magical sound, this treble booster is nowhere near enough boost, you need at least 31db for it, and this sadly only has 20db,
