Scentsiv Unscented Fragrance Free Hair Styling Wax

I like this stuff. It is as "scent free" as I imagine is humanly possible to get. It holds my hair very well and lasts all day. I spike my hair so it works great for a dry/messy look. I do not enjoy the white paste color as it takes FOREVER to work into your hair before the color disappears. So that is a little annoying and sometimes (depending on how much you use) it can be a little hard to wash out. But the main draw to this is the unscented claim and it does just that! I would buy this again.

As someone who has a hard time with styling products that are fragrant because they leave my scalp feeling horribly painful and itchy, finding this product has allowed me a way to style my hair again without any reactions. I have problems using anything scented; no matter how light, scented products still irritate me--I have even had irritation from free & clear brand styling gel. I was absolutely shocked upon trying this that I had no problems with it. This product is very tacky and pliable and the hold is moderate. It gives the hair a nice texture and allows one to have a styled look, but in order to really create a hair style with this, I feel that hairspray is needed, because over time your hair will begin to fall--although you can just push it back up or re-style it with the product that is still in your hair (can re-work it all day). This product does not seem to be damaging to my hair--have been using for around a month now--it actually does not seem to be bothering the very healthy condition of it at all. I have somewhat thick, dark brown hair, and even with the product being white I do not find any residue left in my hair, even when I first put it in. When applying this to my hair, I take out a finger sized amount of this product and rub it between my palms for a few seconds, and with my nearly dry, very slightly damp hair, I shape it the way I want, starting at the roots. It does a good job at getting parts of hair down flat to your head and getting parts of your hair to stand straight up. It does not take a long time to work this product in--just a few seconds for each part of the hair you are working with--and it does not look shiny, it looks natural and well groomed. I find there to be no scent to this product, it does not even have a chemical scent from the products used to create it: there is no odor of any sort. The item came on time, packaged nicely and the product packaging itself is durable and nice. This is a quality product and I am very satisfied with it. I recommend this to others looking for something like this and who struggle with fragrance problems.

Things I look for in hair product: unscented, easy to apply, easy to wash off hands, and hold/pliability as advertised.This meets two of the four: unscented and easy to wash off hands. I like that it's easy to wash off my hands when I'm on the go in the morning and I need to eat breakfast after I style my hair. I'm not the sort of person who likes to be "scented" all day every day, so the unscented nature of this wax is great. However, it's hard to dig out of the container and apply to the hair. It's chunky, and I need a stiff-bristle brush to even it out and break up the chunks. Applying it is just a pain in general because of this. Also, this feels like more of a stiff hold than a medium hold. When I try to run my fingers through my messy-looking hair to re-style, I feel like I'm making my hair frizzy and I have to put a lot of effort into it.

I am cursed. People always think having superpowers would be awesome, but I have a superpower, and take it from me, it is terrible. I just want to live a normal life, but no, instead I am a super-smeller, and I detect even the faintest scents that no one else in the room is even aware of. Yes, that woman in the house across the street just put one single dab of perfume on her left wrist. Yes, that guy 50 yards over there just let one rip.And the best part is, because smells are so much stronger to me, some of them -- especially manufactured scents like perfume, cleaning products, candles, etc. -- actually make me feel queasy and sick. Yay!!So imagine my joy when my boyfriend decides he wants to have cool dude hair and starts purchasing styling products with disgusting, granny-perfume scents. I *almost* moved out and got a new boyfriend, but at the last minute I found this hair styling wax, and it saved my relationship, my nose, and my sanity. It truly is unscented, even for those of us with super-smelling abilities, and my boyfriend actually likes its effectiveness on his hair even MORE than that of his disgusting-smelling previous choice products. Win-win!So if you've been shying away from your man's caresses because his head smells like a granny, or if you've realized your significant other is mysteriously shying away from your caresses (possibly because your head smells like a granny), do yourself a favor and try out this hair wax. The noses of the world will thank you.

I used to use the J.Crew "FIBER" Styling cream. This is not quite as nice to use. It is more crumbly and brittle compared to the J.Crew product; however, the J.Crew product has a very strong cologne smell that I quite dislike. This product once spread into the hair works just as good the J. Crew product.Pros:UnscentedWorks just as good as J.Crew product I used to use.Cons:A little more crumbly and not as nice to apply (very minor complaint)The one review I saw that was negative said that the product was difficult to apply, but I think hair wax just can't be applied like hair gel. I thought I might share how I apply hair wax.How to apply:1. Wet your hair2. Wet your hands3. Take a small finger tip sized amount and rub it between the palms of your hands (like its a cold winter morning)4. Keep rubbing until the wax turns into a cream which is covering palms and fingers in a thin coating.5. Work it into your hair moving your hand back and forth through your hair vigorously.This always gives me good application of the wax while still using a small amount of the product. I used to go through this stuff much faster when I tried to apply it dry and without "melting" it first.
