Really helps during hikes
The year before I bought these insoles, some of my toes tingled during long hikes. On the last day of a 6 day trek, something in my toes even popped causing toe numbness that lasted weeks. Wanting to avoid this craziness, I researched and decided to try these. This year's hike - 6 days with a total of 62 up and down mountain miles - was much better with these insoles! I replaced my other Super**** insoles with these and these worked better for me. The arch support seemed similar and was definitely as effective as last years other insoles. The heel shape and targeted cushion on these was comfortable, though I had not had heel strike issues before so can't say if there is a therapeutic effect in the heel. The metatarsal bump/support at the front of these insoles made a huge difference for me. Read further for details. When I first tried "metatarsal" support, I tried the older Pedag Holiday which is the predecessor to this Viva Mini. The Holiday worked but I wanted a variety of different sizes for different hiking boots and the Holiday has been replaced by the Viva Mini. The Pedag wegbside indicated that the arch was a bit firmer in the Viva Mini, though I didn't notice that. What I did notice was the leather color is paler and slightly pink on the Viva Mini versus to more tan of the Holiday. The shapes are slightly different at the front of these insoles: the Viva Mini flares out where the Holiday was rounded at the front. Both worked for hiking boots but the flare could be in the way for narrower shoes. The front of these insoles is at the front of the ball of your foot - these insoles do not extend to underneath your toes. They help the toes, but aren't located at the toes. The edges of these insoles are very smooth and tapered so that I had no irritation where the insole ends.I still got tingling in my toes after miles of hiking, but the tingling was much milder and did not progress as it had previously. I never got the pop or prolonged numbness with these pedag insoles. While toe numbness took weeks to vanish last year (with my super**** insoles), this year my toes regained normalcy in a matter of minutes each evening once I was done hiking for the day. These insoles are still going strong without any noticeable wear - they aren't misshaped, smashed, or frayed in any way even with the punishment I've put them through. YMMV. Happy Hiking.

Not for me
Not enough metatarsal support for my needs. Nor can these be returned. Spent a lot of money for something I can’t return. Very disappointing.

Fit narrow shoes
These insoles are one of very few options on the market that fit ladies dress shoes. I also wear them with boots, some of them roomy ones, but, amazingly, the insoles stay in place! I wish they had higher arch, though.

Great arch supports that don't take up much space
I absolutely love these! I have low arches and wide feet, and a lot of shoe inserts take up too much room toward the front of the shoe, making them feel too narrow. These are three quarter length and very thin, so they work even in shoes where I need to wear thin socks, but there is plenty of arch support for someone with lower arches. My only complaint is that they can be a bit slippery, which makes them a bit awkward in flats.

My 8th pair.
These are amazing. I have bunions and a regular sized arch and metatarsal arch. These arches support BOTH metatarsal and regular arch. I have them in each pair of shoes. I tuck the arch support underneath the insole that came with the shoe, although in a few cases I just place it on top of the existing insole.

Can be Customized
The right foot was perfect, but the left foo hurt because the support pad did not match the metatarsal arch of my foot. I decided to cut a bit away from the heel (the somewhat rigid base is surprisingly easy to cut) and voila, relief! I can' blame the manufacturer for my cockeyed feet, just glad a tailoring job was so easy to accomplish. By the way a piece of double sided adhesive tape can be used to keep the insole in place if the original attachment wears out.

You want these if you have high arches
I have high arches and have a hard time with many shoes since they have no arch. In addition, due to the high arch, the top of many boots and shoes press on the top of my foot, to the extent that I can't even get my foot in, or if it does, there's certainly no room for a big insert. THESE FIT AND WORK. They have a customer for life.

Disappointed
I am not sure what’s wrong but the arch support doesn’t seem to be in the right spot while using this. The pain was relieves a bit while walking, but hurts even more the next day. Not as good as I had hoped. Return is not available for this product.
