Made up of over 400 islands, Greece (Hellas), officially known as the Hellenic Republic, lies at the southeastern tip of Europe, surrounded by the Aegean sea to the East, The Mediterranean is to the South and the Ionian Sea is to the West. On our last trip, one delightful concoction kept us going while on long hikes and treks- Mountain Tea. According to local lore, it also helped stave off illness. This tea contains essential oils including over sixty constituents which have only recently been isolated. Its many health benefits include an aid for digestion and fighting colds. The locals swear by these properties and have been drinking it as long as they can remember!Collecting herbs for this unique tea is a true labor of love. Growing wild in rock crevices of hard limestone, these herbs thrive at altitudes exceeding 1000 meters. Villagers must hike the mountains, fully exposed to the intense Greek sun.Wild Mountain Tea has a beautiful, rich color and exotic aroma, full of the natural delights found in this special part of the world. One taste is enough to have us reminiscing about the Greek countryside- particularly those spectacular mountains. We've found a little goes a long way. Simply place a small handful of mountain leaves in a pot of water and boil approximately 5 minutes. Leaves can be reused. Traditionally this tea is served with a little honey and although sugar can be substituted, we agree, honey complements it a little better.

Most wonderful gentle caffeine free tea
A friend of mine recently gave me a cup of this after-dinner tea. Delicious? Its origins, I asked. Weeds growing on the side of the road in many Middle Eastern countries and Greece. Steep for a long time, 12 to 15 minutes recommended with a microwave zap. I have no idea if there are any healthful ingredients, but this is a very pleasant tea that does not need any supplements like honey or milk or lemon.

Very nice flavor, aroma, & price
Very nice. Comes out a rich, golden-brown after simmering / boiling for 10 - 15 mins. Hard to describe the flavor because it’s not quite like anything else. Neutral - not bitter or “planty”; vaguely early and sweet. Threw in some ginger, cinnamon, and honey. First had mountain tea at my Greek friends’ house (they had picked it themselves and brought it back to the States) and this is what I remember. It’s also good with some honey and lemon if you want something a little more “zesty” and less “warm and relaxing”. It’s also supposed to be very healthy, but I just enjoy the flavor.

Delicious.
High quality tea. Large quantity for the value. Caffeine free, so I love making a cup before bed. Very pleasant flavor.

Product fine until it was crammed into the mailbox
Haven’t used the tea yet but was not thrilled that it was crammed into my mailbox which caused 2 small holes in the interior (actual) packaging. And mailperson won’t deliver the mail when you cram it in the box.Was not given an option to rate the delivery.

Great herbal product. Helps me with my serious issues.
I was recently hospitalized with double pneumonia. After discharged home I used this tea as an integral part of my diet just like I used it before for minor issues. I can tell that it really helps me. I'm not giving any medical advice here. I'm simply stating that, for me, this tea is excellent. But even when I'm feeling good this tea helps me maintain that good feeling. I'm guessing it agrees with me being Greek too.

A real taste of Greece
The smell and taste of this took me right back to when I lived in Greece. Pleasant subtle flavour, both soothing and energising and has lots of health benefits too!

Yum
Delicious. This tea is really hard to get and though it took 2 months to get to Canada, it was worth it.

My go to respiratory tea
I drink this whenever I have a respiratory infection with added lemon juice - tastes good room temp and hot. Wish I could find it locally as this is a pricey option.
