Painted Alive: The Fine Art Bodypainting of Craig Tracy

I tracked down this book after watching the Fiat Body Paint Shoot video, where Tracy painted a bunch of girls to look like a car. As good as that was, the book is much better. Quite a few body painting artists are experts at blending bodies into the background, but Tracy takes this concept to a whole new level, combining the two to create something far greater than the sum of its parts.I eagerly await the next collection of his work.

Mr. Craig Tracey is, undoubtedly, one of the most talented body painters in the world! I love the layout of the photos and especially the content of this book. This is an awesome book for anyone interested in body painting who wants to bring their art to another level. This is not a step by step instructional book but an excellant out-of-the-box inspirational book and an incredible addition to your library.You will NOT be disappointed!

What else is there to say about Craig Tracy's book? Absolutely beautiful! My only complaint is that it took as long as it did to get to me (I pre-ordered but the publisher ran out of copies). I emailed Craig Tracy's gallery and they were super responsive and follow-up with status updates. I really appreciated it. Thank you. The book was worth the wait.

Bought the book because I purchased one of Tracy’s paintings and wanted his book on my coffee table.

Craig Tracy is one of my favorite body artists. After visiting his gallery in New Orleans and purchasing some prints, I knew I had to have this book as well. I waited a LONG time to have it delivered but for me it was well worth it!

Discovered Craig Tracy long before Skin Wars and am a fan and a collector. This is great conversation piece in my living room. Even the crew painting my house were intrigued!

Awesome art! I am slightly biased though...I know one of the models. Great body painting throughout. Every pic is amazing. People flip through it at my house constantly remarking on the detailed painting and fantastic poses.

A very unique artist I wanted to get a history and more indept look into his work and his concepts of human and animal forms into nature and surroundings

The book was initially described to me as a learning tool containing details about how to complete various body painting techniques and the use of paints, airbrushes etc. However, what this is, is effectively a coffee table book. The body paintings created by Craig are exemplary and stunning, but it is literally 128 pages of his body paintings with a brief description of how much he enjoyed this particular job or model. As a look at some great works of art this is great but not a way of learning new skills from a seasoned pro nor a study in the art itseld. Dont bother with it if thats what you want. as a point of interest on your coffee table its great fun but thats all, and expensive if bought for that reason
