After extensive research I selected this product to try. I started with 600mg for a few days, then upped it to 600mg twice daily and, now starting on week two, I am taking 600mg three times daily. After a two year battle with mycobacterium avium intracellular infection I am left with a nagging cough with lots of mucus. Docs want to treat as asthma with steroid treatment. Thanks but no thanks. I suspect I have a biofilm bacterial infection. I can tell that the mucus is much, much thinner but what I'm shooting for is total disruption and removal of harmful biofilms thus curing this cough once and for all. After this week I will increase the dose to 2400mg per day ... and that is the highest dose I will take as long as there are no side effects. So far ... so good.

Norwegian studies have shown that this particular amino acid, taken while drinking alcohol, will prevent the “hangover headache”. Look it up. They are right. I take 1000 mg before bed and not a trace of a hangover headache the next day. You might still feel other hangover effects, but you will be clear thinking the moment you wake up. AMAZING. I purchased this NAC on the recommendation of my naturopath to keep sinus and chest congestion thin and flowing, and it's working great! I researched, and this brand compared to the really high priced NAC that she had recommended. As others indicated, it really does smell when you first open it! I left the lid off overnight, and put 2 out for each day and by the time I take them the smell is gone. With all of its benefits, this seems to be a great supplement to add to anyone's regimen, and this brand is excellent with a great price.

There's not much to review for this product since NAC isn't an experiential compound. I use NAC primarily as an adjunct to my SSRI antidepressant for controlling obsessive ruminations (at 4800mg/day) under a doctor's supervision. This product is cost-effective and a good quality, and arrived in a day. Will order again.To other customers considering this product, always remember NAC is not very bioavailable orally, so 600mg is barely anything. Seek a doctor's advice for proper dosing considerations for whatever condition you are aiming to treat.

Do not take this product if you are allergic to GMO corn! My own fault, I did not realize this supplement was derived from corn dextrose. I took 600mg twice a day for 5 days, and progressively became sicker each day. It was working so well on my chronic cough that I kept taking it, even though i was having one strange symptom after another. Intense headaches that were focused on one spot, brain fog, dizziness, numbness in limbs, extreme confusion to the point that I almost went to the hospital thinking I was having a stroke! Most of the symptoms passed when I discontinued use, but now I'm dealing with the IBS that brought me to the knowledge of my GMO allergy in the 1st place. This will take another 2 or 3 days to clear up. One other thing. It is not stressed that NAC detoxifys the liver. This alone can make people sick if you have a toxic liver. Start out with a low dosage of this and work your way up.I am still going to try the NAC in a non-gmo form, but I will be much more cautious not to overdo it, and not until I have fully recovered from this. It has been a nightmare. All said, it worked wonders for my cough, that's the only reason I'm willing to try again!

This product has that notorious smell so I know I'm getting the real thing and not a bunch of fillers.

I work in healthcare and am daily exposed to more germs and viruses than I care to think about . Since I’ve been taking this, I haven’t been sick once !!! In general, I just feel better.There is an odor to the supplement... I remove it from the bottle ahead of time and let it sit out for a bit... by the time I take it, I no longer notice it.
