Paddington Bear: Collector's Edition DVD

Grandkids enjoy watching this movie

I think that this is a collection of very old TV shows and they are lovely to watch and listen to. I don't think anyone would make shows like this these days so watching them brings me so many nice memories as an old adult now. The earlier days of TV were wonderful and watching and listening to these shows is great! The theme music is fantastic and the artistic organization is wonderful - each of the shows is about 5 minutes but it's just wonderful to watch them one after another.

Forgot what channel this used to come on.as a kid when saturday morning came around I was a happy camper cause I would see all my favorite cartoons / shows.but the channel Paddington Bear came on stop showing the animated series I was not happy long story short. I am so happy the whole series is on DVD the only thing I am not happy about is the sound I have to put the volume up to 100 on my television just to hear the episodes that I watch. the cartoon of PB the sound is ok not great but a lot better than the two animated series DVD's thank you so much Amazon for having this

This came on one of the movie channels and my husband and I left it playing. And were delighted. It's charming and fun and funny and sad without being sappy. We liked it so much I bought it, and now that I've seen the second one, will get that, too. Better than Fantastic Mr Fox and other "comparable" films. A delight and absolutely appropriate for all ages.

Although the target content of the DVDs is cute & entertaining, the way it is structured is a bit awkward. For example, on the first DVD there are 44 "episodes" (over 3-1/2 hours of episodes). The problem is each "episode" is about 5 minutes long with about 15 seconds of opening credits and about 30 seconds of closing credits. While that might not sound like excessive credits -- for each "episode" you are getting about 4-1/4 minutes of actual content and 3/4 minute of "credits". The credits are basically identical. The problem (in my opinion) is that after seeing the same credits for the 3rd or 4th time ... you really don't need or want to see them again & again. For example, it takes about 30 minutes to watch the first 6 "episodes" -- in that 30 minutes -- you've seen those credits 6 times -- 4-1/2 minutes of credits. By the end of the first DVD that's the same 45 seconds of credits repeated 44 times -- over half an hour of credits. Be prepared to use the "fast forward" scan button a lot!Also, keep in mind that the entertainment is targeted towards small children -- with the content of each "episode" limited to about 4-1/4 minutes -- there is obviously not a lot of in-depth plot or "the moral of the story" or "life-lessons to be learned" involved -- it's simple entertainment: silly & cute & entertaining for the little ones ...

I bought this for myself as I’ve had fond memories of watching this show when I was a child and I wanted to introduce it to my niece.

Bought for my grandson and he didn’t like them at all…he had watched the Nickelodeon version before and these didn’t stack up…I will donate these dvd’s to a local daycare…

DVD wurde in Deutschland auf Amazon.de angeboten, die DVD kann aber auf deutschen DVD Playern nicht abgespielt werden. Der Verkäufer möchte jetzt, dass wir die DVD auf eigene Kosten zurücksenden, was mehr kosten würde, als die DVD wert ist. Unsere Enkelkinder waren schrecklich enttäuscht, dass sie nicht paddington schauen konnten.

I tossed out the DVD that had some British cartoon not my Paddington. The remaining disc is why you buy this set the stop motion animated series based on Bond's books and it's what I grew up with. The episodes are short so they're great for many reasons

Arrived exactly at the time posted, all DVD's work as they should with my player and It is a joy to reminisce with Paddington after all these years much thanks to amazon for making this available.

The 70s series is still the best.
