The Iron Society Old Fashioned Men's Grooming Aid Hair Pomade

This stuff didn't work well for me. First, the scent is a bit too strong, although it does abate after about an hour. The product breaks down easily and is smooth to apply. But, it becomes very dry and makes my hair very wavy. The product does not have any stickiness to hold things together. Unfortunately, this one will go in the trash.

Smells great and holds down my hair great product !

I started going through it to make my mind definitely about this pomade...It's an original pomade, made for original hairstyles and it holds your hair very well. I will however start by the negatives: You may have to use more rather than less product depending what you go for and considering the price of the product you may be hesitant to do so, it is QUITE difficult to scoop out on my part, the first layer is hard as rock and it does get better but still very hard, and finally this is VERY HARD to wash out, i stand by it will take A LOT of water and washing, it's what you expect from a pomade but still it's not right for everyday use because it is that hard to get out of your hair. Outside of that this is your perfect pomade, great but also a natural shine in a way, the smell is lemony and citrusy and very masculine although a little different than what I expected, it just has great hold all around and a great shine

I have semi-wavy hair with half a dozen cow licks and this pomade works great for days that I don't need a heavy hold. It can hold a pomp a couple of inches tall all day but won't go very tall for very long. The scent is best described as being a "Manly-Citrus", and very pleasant to catch a whiff of throughout the day. It doesn't harden to give you that helmet-head effect and is easily restyle-able with a pocket comb. I'll usually wear oil based pomades for three days before washing them out completely and starting again with clean hair (I should also note that I do wash with shampoo every day to keep my hair clean, but oil based pomades are not so easily subdued). It only takes a little bit maybe thumbnail sized on days 2 and 3 to touch up the spots that aren't holding so well. To wash it out completely nothing works better than Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. Work a sizable amount of Aussie into your hair like you would your pomade, comb it in and let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then shower/shampoo/conditioner and your hair will be free of excess product and you can start fresh.

This is hands down my favorite pomade I own- out of over 100 different brands/jars I have. This has become my go to for numerous reasons. The texture is perfect for my wavy thick hair, it's actually a firm enough hold to hold down my cowlicks in the back and get me a nice sharp wedge in front. You can get a nice sharp part with it if you choose, I personally do not do a side part. And the scent is by far the best thing I have literally ever smelled cologne fragrance wise. Just a manly spicy very strong scent, with a light hint of lemon. The lemon is more prominent with the grooming spray. Support a small, one man business and buy as many of these as you can. If you're into a water soluble gel, he makes a great water based that you can use along with this or separately that smells exactly the same. I cannot recommend this grease enough. I've probably gone through at least 2 dozen jars in the last couple years.

Pros: Absolutely love this product and when styled into my hair it actually looks like an authentic old school pomade and follows the company name which not a lot of companies do. The hold is medium and the shine is low and that's exactly what I'm looking for in a pomade. It's very much like Dax wave and groom, but the hold isn't as strong and iron society, washes out fairly easy within 2 days product will be out of your hair, depending the amount you put on.Cons: IT SMELLS STRAIGHT UP LIKE CIGARETTES!!! I have to spray hair spray in an attempt to mask or even weaken the smell. From past experiences, if you're sitting right next to a cute girl she WILL pick up a light hint of it and will assume that you smoke.Overall: Very good pomade, one of the best I've ever tried. Only bad thing is the smell

I use the word original in the context that I've used this pomade before over the years and loved it. One of the best. But this batch the formula changed. Really disappointing.

I like a firm tacky hold. This product does great and with the wax that they use, you can go swimming and just fix your hair-do when you get out of the pool and still look great. I also enjoy the light scent that the pomade has. Nothing intrusive or too chemically. Great product that I've used for years.
