Spikerking Men's Down Jacket Faux Fur Long Down Coats

I live in Chicago and was looking for a really warm jacket for the winter. The polar vortex from last year was still giving me nightmares, so I wanted something that would be able to protect me from that should it happen again.I tried looking at all of the normal retail stores like Columbia or North Face, but I wasn't happy with anything they were offering for men. Specifically, all of their jackets were either belt-length or a little longer. You can't keep warm with a jacket like that as too much heat will escape through your jeans unless you want to wear snow pants.After giving up on those retailers, I took to Amazon and found this jacket. I was skeptical, as the brand isn't familiar at all and Spikerking doesn't show up on any google searches. I decided to give it a try anyway and figured the ~$200 price tag was reasonable. I have to say, I'm pretty happy that I took that chance.I received the jacket about a month after I ordered it. I would complain about this, but I really can't, as I knew it was coming from oversees and the coat arrived exactly when the vendor said it would before I ordered it. When it did arrive, I really had my doubts, as it came is an extremely tiny box and I could not believe that a coat like this would fit in there. However, when I opened it, it did indeed expand quite a bit and the coat is much larger than I actually expected. They must have vacuum sealed the bag when they shipped so that they could ship it in a smaller package to reduce shipping costs. Another minor complaint was that this matted down the fur on the hood, but this was easily fixed by just wetting it down and using a blow dryer to fluff it back out. It's also removable, so if the fur isn't your thing then you can take it off.The coat itself is very good looking. From what I can tell, it's very well made and I couldn't find any tears or loose strings or anything. It fits well, but I will say this: it's a bit larger than I was expecting. I ordered the XL, which they said is US Medium, and there is still a lot of room in the jacket even while wearing a bulky sweater underneath. That's a minor complaint though. It's very comfortable and warm. I've testing it in about 20 degree F weather so far and actually almost overheated. The length is great on it; it goes down to about my knees which is nice because it keeps in the warmth. I am more than confident that this can stand up to the polar vortex should it happen again.Summary: very warm. Runs a bit large; consider ordering a size smaller than they tell you (e.g. if you wear US medium, get a L instead of XL as they recommend unless you really plan on layering more than one bulky sweater underneath). Shipping took a while for me so plan on that. Otherwise, everything is great and I'm going to give it 5 stars.

I purchased this jacket in an attempt to save a few bucks on a down coat, as this winter has been brutal so far in New York City. It was a mistake for a number of reasons.Fit: The jacket runs a bit small, particularly in the sleeves. The sleeves of this jacket are quite short, so if you decide to purchase this coat, keep that in mind. Also, the jacket is a bit long, which I was fine with; however, this does give it a look that is a bit feminine in style.Quality: This jacket, pardon my language, is a piece of s***. It is cheaply made in almost all respects. The fur on hood is thin and wispy. The zipper felt crappy from day one and was eventually the reason I HAD TO RETURN THE COAT; it literally fell apart after two weeks of use. I'm going to repeat that in all caps for the people just scrolling through reviews: THE ZIPPER LITERALLY FELL APART AFTER TWO WEEKS OF USE. The entire coat has a cheap feel...but I guess you get what you pay for.DO NOT PURCHASE THIS COAT. Spend a few extra bucks and get a brand name coat on sale somewhere. This jacket is crappy.

The down jacket is well made, nice and snuggly warm for the cold weather. However, I give it only 4 stars since it is smaller than I thought. Keep the size in mind should you decide to order it. I still would recommend it to anyone.P.s.: tracking was very poor - DHL as international courier, choosen by the manufacturer, is not recommended

After reading the reviews for this coat I ordered a large. I am 5' 8" and wear a size 6-8 and this coat is barely big enough in large. I do love the coat though - I think the quality is better than some of the reviews have stated. I love the feel of it and all of the pockets. It is lightweight but warm.

The jacket is very well made and very warm, you will not be disappointed. I always get compliments. I removed the flimsy fur on the hood though. I live in MN and many days it gets to colder than -20 F and while wearing this jacket I barely notice the bite of the wind.

i am not impressed. it is really not worth the $218, and the jacket was on "sale" from $400. it is more like a $75 to $100, assuming it is really down feathers. the faux fur it's half the fullness from the picture. i will keep it 'cause i don't want to go through all the hassle to return it. lesson to learn: when you think it is really too good ( or inexpensive) to be true, it's because IT ISN'T!! i don't recommend it. all those 4 & 5 stars review had to written by employees/affiliated with the manufacturer or AMAZON!!

Love the coat!Was not expecting the fur collar to be as good of quality. When I was younger I had a fur collar, but it was extremely cheap. This coat's fur is great. It's very warm too. Went to New York for spring break in it. It's pretty waterproof as well.

The full jacket feels very warm and fits well. I am sure in northern Ohio it will be put to the test. I hope it does.
