Firewood for DAYS!
This is a solid, lightweight saw. For the price, I'm surprised at how good it is! This is a great saw for backpackers or campers on a budget. There are similar saws that sell for 2 or 3 times as much but if you choose this one you'll be very happy with the deal you got. I love camping but I hate having to buy firewood and lug it to the site. This paid for itself after ONE camping trip!PROS: - Blade is thin! (1mm) This allows the saw to cut through easier since it has to remove less material on its way through to make room for the blade itself - Lightweight at only 5.5oz - Locks securely open - Can cut 5in diameter log in less than 45 secondsCONS: - Blade is flexible. I consider this a con because when you are ramming the saw through a piece of wood it's easy to bend your blade. Once bent it's tough to get it straight again. - Handle is plastic so you have to grip it tight to prevent your hand sliding - The blade does not lock closed. (I use a rubber band to keep it closed.) - Blade is not long enough to cut wood with diameter larger than 5-6inOther Features: - The hole you see in the handle can fit a carabiner so you can keep it handy - Steel blade is rust resistant. After multiple uses and washings it looks good as new.I hope you found this review helpful and thank you for taking the time to read it!

Great Saw!
This is a great saw for home improvement or wilderness survival. I bought my first Sierra Saw from Wal-Mart about 15 years ago, and I'm just now replacing it. The Sierra Saw weighs 6 ounces, which is pretty lightweight for a saw of this size. The blade is 7" long SK-5 carbon steel hardened to 49-51 on the Rockwell scale. The blade has a light chrome plating for rust resistance, but it will develop rust spots if not cared for. The teeth are pitched 2.25mm from center so as to reduce binding. There are 7 teeth per inch, each double-cut, making for a coarse cut. This makes sawing through logs pretty fast. The handle is black polypropylene (hard plastic) with a light woodgrain texture. The photo in the product description shows an olive-colored handle. This is the older one, as it's the same as the 15-year-old model I replaced. The handle has a large lanyard hole so you can hang it up when not in use. The blade is housed securely in the handle; it doesn't lock in the closed position, but it won't open without some hard shaking. The blade locks open via spring latch, which you release with a tab on the back. It's secure, sure, but mine failed once and I used a Dremel to make the notch deeper. It's been fine since then. A flathead screw goes into a bolt (which is retained by forming the plastic around it) to serve as a blade pivot pin, so you can replace or change out the blade. If you overtighten the screw, you might crack the plastic handle. Also, frequent sawing will cause the screw to back out and loosen, so I recommend using Loc-Tite or some other thread locker. This is an awesome folding saw for camping. It saws fast and is lightweight. Note that the teeth are pointed straight down, but are made to cut on the pull-cut only. Try to cut with a pushing motion and you might bend or break the blade. For ten dollars, the Sierra Saw is one of the best out there.*All measurements are from my scale and measure, not a website description.

Cheap but might
I don’t normally do reviews, but I got I had to on this one. I originally bought it because I needed a pocket quickly and was on a budget. I figured I would get this and upgrade to something more quality a little down the road. When I first got the saw and took it from the packaging, my first thought was of how cheap it felt in my hand. Really thin plastic, seemed like it was barely holding itself together. I didn’t think that it would hold up to even the smallest jobs. My second thought was how small it was. Granted, I did want a small saw, but I didn’t pay much attention to the dimensions, so that’s on me, but when I opened the blade it still fit nicely in my hand. So I put it in my pack for a few days and went back to amazon to find a better replacement.I went to my bag to start double checking everything for an upcoming week in the field. As I’m packing everything and wrapping them in ziplocks, I come back to this saw. I again feel the cheap plastic and think that if I look at this wrong that it’s going to break.I just happened to have a 2x4 stud next to me from an old project and thought I would give the saw a fighting chance. From my first stroke, I was incredibly impressed. This little saw cut through that stud like it wasn’t there, with almost no blade flex, no binding, and the handle held up very well. The saw cut deep on each stroke and I was through it before I knew what happened.I’m going to find out how this performs in the field, but from what I saw in my garage, I’m impressed and am certain it will do at least passably well in cutting deadfall and green stuff. I gave 4 stars only because of the cheap feel, but if the handle holds up, this saw will come with me everywhere.Great buy at a great price! I’ve been consistently impressed with Coghlan products recently, keep up the good work!

Great little tool
These saws are great little tools to leave in your truck or quad. This one defenitely isn't made for heavy duty use. But for cutting a tree that fell in the trail or in the road it's great. Very good price point for what it is.
