To Take An Enemy’s Heart Volume 2 (TO TAKE AN ENEMYS HEART GN)

I really, really love this manhwa series. I just don't care for the translations. Using words like wanna, guy, jerk, idiot, etc. feel too modern-day for the historical period of the story itself. At least in volume 2 we see all the action happening and there are no missing gaps between chapters like in volume 1. But I did struggle to understand what was happening in Igen's flashback sequence until Kassan later summarized the plot for his own understanding.No matter how cruel the seme is, I love him with the uke. You can tell he's in love, even though he vehemently denies it. And the uke knows he loves the seme but wishes he could hate him. And the cast of secondary characters, mostly servants, is also wonderful. The only character I actually dislike is Kassan's brother, who treats him terribly and then demands he carry out his dirty work.The art is just stunning. All the clothes are gorgeous and the scenery is beautiful. I love that it is a perpetual winter but everyone still goes around baring their chests. lol And they all have long, beautiful flowing hair. Best of all are Kassan's facial expressions. He is the epitome of a weepy uke and what the kids today are calling a "precious cinnamon roll." XD As is pretty typical of Korean comic art, the bodies can be a little disproportionate but they are just so beautiful I don't even care.Volume 2 ends on a cliffhanger. Kassan is torn between his loyalty to his family line and his love for his master, while Igen openly states again and again his only goal in life is to torture Kassan...but he never truly does, because it's apparent he's in love with him. I can't wait for volume 3. It's going to be an eternity until March!

Though not very well translated, it is just good enough to be enjoyable. The stylized character design took some getting used to. However as the series progresses, the line art becomes more intricate and detailed to the point of sheer awesomeness. I became a quick fan. The story is simple but the character development is intense and well thought out. I feel it gets even deeper but subtlety is always the first loss in translation. Overall, it is a fun, tantalizing in the best ways, and Igen epitomizes sexy damage. A universal complication of a love story.

Soooooooo good and the art is simply magnificent. I have 1 & 2! 3 & 4 are coming next week. 5 & 6 on pre order and waiting for 7 & 8 to buy as well!

I would LOVE to put a 5 star rating on this amazing series BUT my book came damaged. I high key recommend for the shipping to be MUCH better.

Titel ^^) Ich weiß ja net ob des Spoiler is oda net aba eegal xDKassan (ich nenn den jetz mal "Kassi-chan ^^, achja Igen nenn ich mal Igi-Sensei x33) hatte Igi-Sensei niederg'stochn weil sein "extrem wütender Bruder" Hakar (der soll doch net soo SCHREIN! Mir sand net taub XD -> ich versteh sowieso net wieso die imma schrein müssn o.O habn die alle nen Höhrgerät oda wat? XD) ihn quasi dazu g'zwungen hat und ihm natürlich die Story mit seinem Clan und seiner Family "brühwarm" vorn Latz knalln musst '>.>Ich mein, es hätte rein theoretisch anders kommen können, wenn Igi dem Kassi die gaaanze Wahrheit VORHER erzählt hätte und auch den Grund WARUM er's g'tan hat.... aba neiin Mister "Ich verschweig's ihm lieba" hat sich ja g'dacht es kommt wahrscheinlich eh net raus >.< *Igi ne RIEEESEN KOPFNUSS VERPASS* so, g'schieht ihm recht xD tja, dummerweise isses durch Kassi's Bro rausg'kommen und das Dilemma nahm seinen Lauf <_>-> Wenn er's ihm schon VORHER erzählt hätt, wärs wahrscheinlich net zum "Anschlag" g'kommen und Kassi hätt seinem Bro sagn können, dass er's scho läängst weiß xD(ich frag mich, was für'n G'sicht er dann g'macht hätt? XDD)Und was lernen wir (b'sonders Igi-sensei) draus: Besser mal VORHER sein Hirn + Verstand einschalten und a bisserl nachdenken, bevor ma soo ne sch... bescheuerte Entscheidung fällt ^^achja, der Manga/Manwa war im Großn und Ganzn supie, nur mit Igen würd ich gern mal a bisserl schimpfen XD
